have you tried connecting to another screen? Might be a screen problem.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Seems like a lot of died pixels for me...

update:
I the things you see in the pic are not dead pixels, they showed up on the laptop screen as-well.
I reinstalled the nvidia drivers and everything seems to be working right now, but IDK... -
This does seem to be a dying GPU. How long have you had the system? My 8800MGTX was dead at about the 3 year mark and it started with those artifacts. Sorry dude, but I think it's dying man!

Its an fx3700 that I bought from niff. 2 months ago...

RMA it. I would not delay on this one. Those aren't dead pixels, they are artifacts. I could be wrong but number 1 sign of a dying vid card is artifacting. Before my 8800GTX died, it did that and then it would go away after awhile....then it got bad REALLY FAST. Fortunately, even on a completely "BLACK" screen I was able to find the integrated GFx that was on my m15x and was able to press "restart" blind...now I am on integrated graphics and that should last me a good amount more for referencing old files, etc. I got lucky in that sense lol.

the vid card has never been over 85*....
another "is my vid card dieing" thread....
