ok, so i dont really know to much about computers in general, maybe a little more than the average person, so i thought i would post my question here.

im in the market for a laptop computer for school, though since my xbox 360 recently red lighted, i would like one that i could game on. i was just wondering which of these two mobile graphics cards would be better for gaming in general (no technical stuff, just which has higher fps and what not)
    the Hd 2600 512mb gddr3
    or the hd 3470 x2 hybrid 256mb
both computers are similar in specs
    the hd 2600 is on a gateway m-6882h (2.0gh, 4 gb ram, 320 gb hd 5400rpm)
    and the hd 3470 is on a acer ASPIRE AS6530-5959 (2.0/3gb/250gb 5400rpm)

also, if anyone happens by chance to know of another laptop that would top these in performance in gaming for around the same price, well thatd be swell :]

    peace.

Well I don't know your price cap but I would suggest the SAGER NP5793 or ASUS G71 - A1

Go to Xoticpc.com, they have a good sale right now.

Oh and Microsoft will fix your Xbox for free...

FREE?! what? its over a couple years old, i won it on the pepsi promotion where you got the xbox a week before it came out to the public, and ive already sent it back once.

and the price cap was only about 800-850
im needing a vehicle soon and i can afford more than that

Well if it is the red ring of death, then Microsoft will send you a box for free, you put it in send it back and if they determine that it is the red ring of death, they will fix it and ship it back for free. Just about all my friends have had this happen to them with the same results. As long as you have the SN and such you should be fine. Go to Xbox.com to learn more.

Oh and forget my two suggestions as they are more than double your price cap.

Keep an eye out for a 30% or $300-500 HP coupon and try for a dv5t. The 9600 GT and core 2 duo is a decent combo for recent games.
