im not up on all the different types of nvidia and atis option to turn dedicated graphics off to conserve battery life. most of what ive seen on the thinkpads, its not really that useful cause the cards are all like 3400 series anyways. what others are there?

I don't own one, but from what I've read in the Lenovo forum is that the T500 and W500 are both switchable.

The T400/T500 are switchable. If you are running XP you need to switch it at boot-up in the BIOS. If you are running Vista, then you can switch in real time. However there are problems with the real time switching in Vista. I run XP, so for me it works quite well.
