Haven't tried it on nTune, but I know that RivaTuner can do it!

nTune allows me to overclock in Windows XP x86, Vista x86, and Vista x64. Im using the newest nTune (Sept 19) from nvidia.com. It let me overclock with 169.25 and a few earlier versions. I have the 8600M GT DDR2 512MB version. If you cant get it to overclock dont forget you can always flash the gpu bios.

I'm actually running 169.25 in Vista 32 so thanks for the heads up.
Do you know if the drivers have to be re-installed after installing nTune?
Just trying to prepare in the event of any failures.

Just a FYI, the 165.25 do not allow OCing. Personal experience, and others` thoughts also...not for me anyway :D
Then again riva tuner might be a pain for vista 64.
nTune won`t even instal , says I`m not using an nvidia based mobo

I install ntune after forceware. Note the following:

I do not use modded .inf files from laptopvideo2go.com. I download the drivers directly from nvidia and add the 2 8600M GT lines to the .inf. I have been doing this forever.

I use the latest ntune version dated Sept 19 directly from nvidia.

I usually install forceware then ntune with a fresh install of the OS wheter its XP, Vista x86, or Vista x64.

So keep these notes in mind and try for it again. Also remember I have the 8600M GT DDR2 512MB on C90S.

I use ntune to OC my 8600m GT ddr2. It seems to stay suspiciously cool in my vostro. I've OCed it to 667/550 and it never goes above 60C, or so says everest. I'm using the 169.04 driver, and apparently this one allows OCing :)

I used Ntune in the past on a 8600M GS with mediocore results. More some reason Rivatuner allows higher more stable OC's for me. Might have something to do with Ntune not having a option for the shader core??
