Well it depends what type of game you are looking to play? Do you want to play first person shooting games, real time strategy games, online games? It is probably best to just go to a website that reviews video games. See which ones are rated highly. And see which ones your laptop can play. Then start playing. lol

Tim, thanks so much for the great advice. U'r questions for me were right on, and I found some not-too-intimidating places for me to get started.

    thx again.

Try looking for some flash games online. They will give you a good idea of what kind of games you would like. :)

Download some game demos, they're free so you can try out anything you like before you buy it.

My advice is the Half Life 2 demo, google for "Half Life 2 demo" and get it from the gamershell site. Call of Duty 4 is also a great idea, if your graphics card is up to it.

For a safe bet, go for the UT2004 demo. Very easy to get into, and very low system requirements.

Also make sure that you check this thread for a great list of free games. There are many genre of games listed so you should find something you like.
