For all those laptop owners stuck with mxm 2.1 type II slots, found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-HD-4650-4670-M96-DDR3-1GB-MXM-II-Vedio-VGA-Card_W0QQitemZ250597941772QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Video_TV_Cards?hash=item3a58cd220c
It mentions ddr3, but seller may be lying or not completely sure. Quite pricey too. Anyone willing to bite and try it out? Although 9600m gt ddr3 mxm cards are way cheaper to pick up on ebay, some of us (such as compal fl90 users) can't upgrade to an nvidia card. Hopefully in 2 months, these will be $150.

Nice find and if it is true , $250 is not a bad price...
-
hmmm, he has 100% feedback but i am never sure about buying from places like taiwan and china....
-
I got my external Blu-Ray drive shipped to me from a Taiwanese seller. Great condition, exactly what was ordered.
-
hmmm. i may in the near future, if my 9600m GT doesnt work, give it a go and let you lot know.
-
Toshiba BIOS? I wonder if this would work in my A300 without having to flash it...
-
GO FOR IT!
-
Nah, still under warranty. If they are still around by 2012, I'll go for it.
-
I doubt the A300 is a MXM machine, though. Toshiba has used modular designs that are loosely based on MXM but are utterly incompatible with it for ages...
-
I've heard both. I still need to verify whether it is or not, some sites say it's MXM II, yet I have heard people say it's proprietary MXM, much like Asus's designs.
-
it would most likely be the proprietary MXM most likely but its a satelitte so ur GPU might be soldered unlike the qosimo which has properietary MXM.
-
Well, if your machine ever returns from repair and you could post/send a pic of the internals I'll be glad to check it.
-
I don't particularly want to void my three year warranty.
But if I get too impatient waiting, I might check it out.

3 Years? You're right. Better to leave it as is then
ati 4650/4670 ddr3 mxm 2.1 type II found!
