    ati hyper memory and over clocking

    hi
    im a noob to widnows pretty much, i used to use mac os x, so i am not completely computer illiterate. what i wanted to kno was how to i activate hypermemory on my ati 1400 on my laptop. i also wanted to overclock my graphics card for games. i kno u need ati tray tools and ihave it but it says only auto overclocking and the overclocking option is not active.

    Hi kwdizzy,

    First install some Ati drivers above 5.9. I recommend 5.13 and 6.2. Hypermemory will be enabled. Check my signature. Ask if something is not clear or doesn't work. If you use Omegas drivers, be sure to install it with overclocking enabled.

    kwdizzy...if you installed the ATI Tray Tools and selected the "laptop/IGP" option, it disabled the overclocking features. Uninstall and reinstall, but don't select "laptop".

    Just be careful about your overclocking. Some laptops are more sensitive to overclocking than others since the heat build up is different in every case design.
