and i play on medium setting on BF3 and i got like 10-15fps is that normal?

I have an 8800M GTX which is similar to your GPU performance, and I play all on low, still looks pretty good and I get a playable 25-30 fps.

540M is a medium low end card. You are definitely going to have some lag on BF3.

Maybe its switching to the intel card you could try updating your intel chipset drivers and Nvidia drivers

Nvidia BETA drivers for BF3 are found here
    NVIDIA DRIVERS 285.38 BETA

im not sure thats the problem since i havent played the game yet and BF3 is a very demanding game so a 540m might not be strong enough to play it

What are the rest of your specs?

BF3 is VERY graphics intensive... I hope I get more than 10-15 fps... I run BF:BC2 on med-low for ~50FPS with my 540m paired with an i5-2410m.

Incorrect, it's not medium low. It's in the higher half of the medium end cards.

You always play GAMES on HIGH power plan and its prolly running on your integrated card because of origin. (pisses me off)

Edit: It might be running on your intel card because when i started up the game, my screen flashed and it said intel gpu had stopped working) Ihave the nvidia 540m too. Let me know how it goes!!

79C is fine, when you get above 90C you have problems.

Did you check those gpu-z clock frequency's?

Okay I got the BF3 beta. After struggling to get into games and change settings around I got a playable experience.

Core i5-2410m with Nvidia GT540m, 6gigs of ram stock clock frequency plays battlefield 3 at lowest settings around ~35 FPS. More than I expected. Make sure you update your graphics drivers and delete things on your computer that you don't or rarely use.

I'm assuming that once the game releases, that they'll have better support, so FPS will go up 10-20%

And if I OC, I'll throw a few extra frames in there also. BF3 is playable on a 540m. Play it on low though.

I don't think it's your graphics card. The game isn't starting correctly for me either now. Give it a day or two and it'll most likely be sorted out.
