I ran crysis at 730core and got 65.5 fps on the benchmark I lower my clocks to 580 and got 66.7fps 1.2 fps more. do you think voltages are playing a role

    .9v vs 1v

and if im getting 100c on 1.1v when I repaste what do you think my temps will be at on .9v right now they are 72 max but I wonder if it will drop 20c as the paste is non existant on this laptop.

    Temps + Throttling

So yes, in some cases it does.

Please stop making new threads for every "question" you've got -Thanks in advance

Uhh...if i'm reading this right, it dropped about 8 fps when you lowered your core clock, not the other way around.

20C drop from a repaste is not a realistic expectation. You may get it to run 5C to 7C cooler if the repaste is done correctly...but from reading your other thread, why are you trying to overvolt your GPU to 1.2v if you are already experiencing throttling at 1.1v? Your priorities are mixed up.

    just to experiment.

im running at .9volts im hoping to keep the temps below 60c right now they are at 73c and the paste job is awful..their is almost no paste and when i run at stock with turbo fans on i see 95 rather quickly...before the rma my temps were 78c stock thats a 10c drop so at .9v it should drop 10c also...yes...no???

Dood, you got a 15" machine with the expectations that the 100w GPU would run under perfectly fine temperatures. This is why I stick to the 17" machines. >_>

There is supposed to be a very thin layer of compound.. not gooped on.. it is only there to fill minute imperfections in the metal to get better surface area coverage..

Just out of curiosity, how can you tell that the paste job is aweful? Wouldn't you need to remove the heatsink? Why didn't you just reapply the paste instead of simply putting the heatsink back?
