Battlefield 1942 is one of the best games ever made.

I like comparing it to a WW2 Grand Theft Auto :D

multiplayer is amazin, but if you feel bored, you can always head for the singleplayer :)

i prefer it rather than battlefield Vietnam. BUY IT!!! HERE IS ONLY 9€!!!

I'm pretty sure the GMA 950 will play it. But keep all posts like this in the Official "Can My Notebook Run It" Thread.

A GMA 950 can probably play it on low-med settings.

There's quite a few more vehicles you can use in Battlefield, it's quite interesting.

    hey mate (viva españa!)

i have a INtel 82852 (which is about 30% worse than your card) and i play at maximum graphics quality and at 600x480 without performance problems. I would say you will be able to play at 1024x768 at mid graphics quality without performance issues (unless you play D-DAY with 600 men in the battlefield :D )

you can buy it for 9.95€ in EL CORTE INGLES or other game shops

    saludos de un sevillano ;)

but it says you are from Guadalajara....

    are you living in spain?

well, im not sure about the max :D but im sure you wont have to set everything to lowest for playing :D

i have a 6 years old desktop with a low end graphics card (it was low-end when it was released :p ) and i play there with everything at lowest and still get decent framerates (around 18)

The Net thorn BF1942 v1.61 server is the one we play on most. (I just found this sentence in a thread about bioshock, obviously I edited the wrong one yesterday!)

As for is it worth it, I'd say yes, especially as it's so cheap these days. I have to say it's not as good as BF2 in reality, although maybe looking back with rose tinted glasses it is - it's much more frustrating, and much harder to hit things, and aim, and all that sort of stuff. I've got several thousand more kills then deaths in BF2 but in BF1942 I can pretty much never even break even let alone get more kills! Basically, it's not as arcade as BF2....takes a bit more getting used to all the tricks etc. But still a great game....just getting old at this stage and I think it does show its age compared to the newer BF games. You might think that's obvious, but I don't mean graphics wise, I mean gameplay and mechanic wise.

    No you're right, BF2 or 2142 won't run at all.....looks like '42 it is :D

Don't forget to grab Forgotten Hope mod....almost 2gb but well worth it.
