    this notebook is cheap because it has an i5 instead of i7

    but is Nvidia GTX 460M the best deal below 1000 today ?

    The MSI 16F2 is probably the best price/performance under $1000.

    I 2nd what WingNut said, that 53SW w/rebate is a deal. I'd get one of those.

    Wow that's about the same I paid for mine about a month or 2 ago and it has a much better graphics card and processor... -__-

    But this laptop gets steady 5 star reviews across the board. It's sturdy, everything works well, it looks good, and it has decent power. Nobody had given it a bad review. It was all 4 and 5 stars, mostly 5. That laptop looks like people are having issues with it. I personally can't afford a gamble like that.

    The issue is with the power button which has plagued the G53 for a while, so it's not unique to this machine. Plus a lot of the 1 or 2 stars are for "customer support" and crap like that.
