is there a benefit in using the above over just adding two lines to the inf to include my 8800gts ?
I've been adding the following two lines for some time and had zero problems, just want to make sure i don't miss anything here
under [NVIDIA.Mfg.NTx86.6.0]
%NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0609.1% = nv_G9x_HD, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0609&SUBSYS_0690107B
under ; Localizable Strings
NVIDIA = "NVIDIA"
NVIDIA_G92.DEV_0609.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS" "

It just adds support for your notebook gpu.

Nah. lv2g basically does an .inf with all the lines added.

Somebody had posted a program that does moding for you that may be better than the pre-modded files.
The G50V-A2 has a blueray drive and when using the 177.79 drivers from l2g they could not play movies, however when they self modded the inf file it worked. So something was removed from the file that they needed. -
thanks i'll just keep my own modding
benefit in using l2g moded inf over editing inf?
