Hi all,
I've recently bought the HP Pavillion dv2000t with the following specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.0 Ghz
2 GB Ram
120 GB HD
Nvidia Geforce Go 7200
14.1" Brightview
I bought the notebook because I wanted something light and mobile (I travel a lot, and use it in class, libraries, etc.). However, I would call myself a moderate gamer and the only thing I disliked about the dv2000t was the graphics card, Nvidia geforce go 7200, which I realize is a bit underwhelming at 128 MB which includes the Turbocache support.
My question is what is the best graphics card that this laptop could support (I know nothing about hardware, so I'm not sure if this is determined by the motherboard maybe)? For example, if I bought a GeForce Go 7600 GT, would it be compatible with this notebook, assuming I installed it correctly? I believe the motherboard is an Intel 945GM, according to a review I read but I could not find this spec on HP's site.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
PS. This site really helped me out in determining what notebook to buy, I'm really grateful to the community and the reviews everyone posts.

dreamer must be so sick of the same post again and again when he created guides on how gpus CANNOT be upgraded and when this question was asked just 2 days ago
i really think mods should take into consideration of making a sticky thread titled "YOU CANNOT UPGRADE MOST NOTEBOOK GRAPHICS CARD, more info inside"
and linking it to your guide -
Sorry! I read the comparisons in that first sticky but I missed the part about upgrading at the top. Anyways I was just curious, thanks for the quick reply.
