The MSI-1029 would get my vote - 128MB X700, Turion 64 (up to MT-40 2.2GHz).
-
do you think that x700+turion 2.2ghz can outperform pentium m 2ghz+go6800??
and do you happen to know any turion that comes with go6800?
personally I'd love to buy an AMD processor becuase they're 64 bit, but turions do not come with 17" screens and desktop replacement ones only come with antique graphic cards -

No - whatever CPU paired with the Go6800 will be better. The Go6800 is about 30-35% faster than the Radeon X700.
There are no AMD-based notebooks with a Go6800 that I know of. However, there is the Sager NP-9750, but that is 17", weighs 12lbs, and is well over $2,200 for even a base configuration.
Sure you need 64-bit? You will have a lot more choices if you eliminate that requirement. -
I'm not sure I need 64 bit because I'm not sure how the windows 64 will inpact the pc world, I don't want to suffer in performance once they are released.
what's your oppinion. you seem to know quite a bit about this kind of things. -

I wouldn't bother with it right now. By the time x64 becomes mainstream, that will be at least 2.5-3 years, and by then, whatever you have now will be obsolete.
You can get what you want if you 'sacrafice' the x64. -
if I were to sacrifice the 64 bit, what would you suggest?
IMO go6800+p4 would be great, if such configuration egzists.
do you happen to know why there are no nvidia+amd laptops on the market? -

If you don't have a problem with a 17" display, then I would go for the Dell Inspiron 9300 on the low side of your budget. Fully spec'd out, it should run you about $1,600 or so with the coupons, or less.
Another notebook to look at is the Sager NP-5720. 17", Go7800GTX, starting at $1,800. Check out my Sager Models Guide in my signature - there are links to reviews of the 5720 in there. I recommend www.PowerNotebooks.com
For a Pentium 4, there is the Asus Z81SP - 15.4", Go6800.

I've decided to drop the 64 bit.
I like inspiron 9300 but the price always gets a bit over the edge.
my prefered config would be anything with 1 gb ram, go 6800, and a dvd burner.I don't really care much about the other stuff.
what do you mean by "coupons"?
the Asus Z81SP is great!! is there a wide screen version of it?
also do you happen to know a web store that doesnt mind shipping to "egzotic" location(Croatia-Europe).
whats your oppinion on acer 8100? -

If you are interested in the Acer 8100, I would wait until January - the Acer 8200 is coming out, and has a 256MB X1600 and a dual core Yonah processor. Check around the forums for more information. Here's one thread:

Hm..I am fairly certain that you can get a Dell in Croatia, have you checked? -
yes I can get dell, but not all models are availabe + the local shops pump up the price way to much(acer TM 8100 cost 2700$ here).
the Asus Z81SP is great!! is there a wide screen version of it?
I'm not sure I'll be able to afford acer 8200. -

Yes, the Asus is already widescreen - 15.4".
