No Battlefield 3?
still pretty damn nice for being released in 2011.
My rank would be (while regarding gameplay and graphics):
-Metro last light
-Crysis 3
-FarCry3
-Bioshock Infinite
-Grid 2 -

I know its an older game but the graphics were ahead of its time.
The Witcher 2 with uber sampling turned on and everything on maximum looked incredible!
Also probably my favourite game ever! -
I also think that battlefield 3 should be included. Singleplayer campain looks fantastic. Multiplayer as well but its not so detailed as single. If I would answer the question best graphic that I saw it would bea modded one. If your looking for soe real eye candy check out GTA 4 with ice enhancer or other mods, or Crysis 2 with maldo hd. Or even Crysis one with mods looks stunning.
-
Wow I need to read the question haha.
Best singleplayer game I've ever played would probably be Fallout 3. I have yet to play a game that can match the storyline. Played that game to death.
Best multiplayer goes to Counter Strike Source. The "become mlg pro or go 0-10" community kickstarted my fps skills, and the endless amounts of mods in the game is incredible. ZombieMod and ZombieEscape will forever be the best. -
not trying to pick anyone off but don't you think BF3 looks dated?
grid 2 looks fantastic for a racing game, wooo shiney.
I personally vote crysis 3 as the detail is out of this world, I thought crysis one looked good with realifesis but when I saw crysis 3 I could not believe my eyes, it was errr is next gen graphics..I don't expect games too look better or equal for at least a few years -
My choices:
1-Max Payne 3
2-Tomb Raider
3-Bio Shock-Infinite
4-Metro Last Light -
Personally i think Crysis 3 wins on graphics and the engine scales quite good on different PC hardware as well.
Second place would probably be a tie between the new Metro: Last Light and the Witcher 2 EE. -
Super Mario 64
-
Max Payne 3 probably. Bioshock Infinite comes second.
-
Come on people, we all know Metro LL wins this round.

Skyrim with ENB is the best looking game on PC. Hell, anything with ENB is the best looking game.
-
Crysis 3, for now. I'm sure some of the new games coming out this year are going to be insane (i.e. BF4).
-
Skyrim with some decent amount of mods looks more than amazing, real-life like, I have some real tree and skyrim tree comparisons, where skyrim tree wins (with 20 graphics and textures modes). But among these games I think Metro Last Light & Crysis 3 is up ahead of the rest. BI is certainly a ground breaking art design, but nowhere near comparable in terms of graphics to these two. Also there are some people saying Max Payne 3, whaaaat are you talking about??? Not even in the same league..
-
Crysis 3 has best graphics to date period.
As for best game?
That depends on many factors. My preference for 2013 would be tombraider and metro LL but the year aint over yet. As for all time, i really enjoyed max payne 3. Best story line and amazing graphics too. You feel like you are in a hollywood movie. -
Metro Last Light hands down. Crysis 3 was big wow at first, but later.. Meh!
Just my opinion, of course :hi2: -
Mass Effect 1 had the best graphics with the best gameplay. Most of the games listed have awesome graphics, but they are dumb shooters

Actually looking forward to replying with higher graphics settings since upgrading to 7970m. -
Hey, you're right. That game also features next gen technology that makes fish move out of the way as you swim towards them: "Next Gen Technology" - YouTube

Metro series.

You would gladly keep a thread open pertaining to gpus, and their power but what good is the power if their are 0 games.
edit
I have been observing and reading these forums for over 8 years and you Mr MM well you know.
mods sorry for the rocky start, im dedicated to building this forum up more and refuse to further spam. apologies -
Agree. There are too many gpu threads and too few game threads.

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
now if you put rome 2 total war, we can talk
the problem here is the associated discussion of good graphics with good games, while they all fit in the former, not all fit in the latter.
TLR revising vote, tetris ftw! along with mass effect series, total war series, rise of nations, stronghold 1 & 2, neverwinter nights 1 & 2, Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, The Old Republic, sonic, mario, macross ai oboete imasu ka, star wars jedi knight series, empire at war, pitfall, street fighter, and so many others
-
I seem to have lost track of what this thread is on about..
If have to say of the recent games I finished I'd put Max Payne 3 on top. But this is only because I still have some of the others to actually play.. -
Just started playing Remember Me by capcom. Hands down this is my favourite game so far this year overwhelimingly and the graphics with supersampling on is breathtaking. Its a mix of DMC, bladerunner and batman:arkham city using unreal engine. The art work and design is nothing short of spectacular.
For me so far GOTY'13. -

Graphics are incredible and also one of my fave games. -

Plus one for witcher 2.
Despite the game, i always compare it to The witcher 2.
The day i build a pc that can run it with uber sampling at 60fps, it would be a good day.
For what's on the list, Metro LL's atmosphere is quite something. -

I wonder if single gtx 780 could run ultra with uber sampling at 60 fps?
Most forums recommend x-fire or sli for uber sampling lol!!! -
Amongst recent games, and excluding all the classics, I have to say Dark Souls is probably one of the best I've played.
Yes it was a horrible PC port, but the sense of growth and accomplishment you get from playing it is one I haven't really felt in a singleplayer game since stuff like metroid was around.
Every enemy you face from the very beginning gives you their all, theres no fake gimping with difficulty levels, and you just really grow as a player on your journey through.
This is backed by fantastic mechanics as well as weapon design, and some of the best level structure I have seen honestly, the way all these different paths interconnect and how open and free you are to approach things - there is absolutely no handholding at all, which is so refreshing given most current games around.
Absolutely cannot wait for Dark Souls 2. Haven't been so excited for a game for a long time. -
Well for graphics I think:
Cysis 3, Skyrim (ENB + 2K high res texture pack), Witcher 2, BF3 (still), and Sniper Elite. Nazi Zombies is nice too. And not yet released, this is the most impressive game I've yet to see - The Division
Best game:
Personally I vote L4D2, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Formula 1 2012. -
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate 2
Jade Empire
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer
The Witcher
The Witcher 2
Fallout
Fallout 2
Fallout: New Vegas
Arcanum
System Shock 2
Clive Barker's Undying
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Dues Ex
Alpha Protocol
Prey
Clive Barker's Jericho
And the list could go on... And on...
I'm not saying that Fallout 3 was a horrible game, there are many that are worse, but it's not that great of a game and, in particular, the story isn't one of the strong points (at least not when compared with the scores of games that have much stronger stories and storytelling). -

This beats everything! I realise the thread title is to date but this trailer is too good to miss.
I dread to think the recommended system requirements for this game. i7 4770K and GTX Titan?Last edited by a moderator: May 12, 2015 -
Warframe and planetside 2 have some incredible graphics for being free to play.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed Metro Last Light, both story-wise and in terms of graphics.
The runner-ups would be Crysis 3 for the graphics and Far Cry 3 for the story. -
Crysis 3 graphic is way too flashy for me, lots of flying particles, lights, cell shader etc
Metro looks as good but much cleaner.
As for the best game.
Probably MGS3 since the story is amazing and most memoriable for me.
Otherwise some competitive games like SC2, BW and Dota because having a esport scene makes gaming experience a much more social and amazing one -
-
Its a book. The metro video game series was inspired by the metro book series.
-
Here's how I'll rate them
1- Crysis 3
2- Metro last light
3- Bioshock infinite
4- farcry 3
5- Grid 2? no... havent seen much of this to rate it
best game graphics to date. best game to date
