dude, get the toshiba.. it has a wicked FSB and has a very good card hd3650. I was just at staples and seen it there for 50 bucks less, and the WEI score was 5.0..

You will be able to play all games max settings with that card, but with crysis Id recommend using a ultra high quality config and changing the draw distances and texture size, for maximum look and performance..otherwise expect 10-20 fps on vanilla veryhigh with native rez..

Toshiba for sure I don't really know why people are such huge few fans of gateway on here but ok lol. Toshiba will be built way better and probably last twice as long as a gateway or the other 2 you mentioned + the toshiba has a better video card, proccessor more HDD space.

Toshiba as well. Although, I wouldn't go about bashing Gateway laptops. From my experience, they seem to hold their own just as well as Toshiba's. I got a Toshiba laptop in 2003 that still runs today, although, the casing on the LCD panel is cracking as well as the casing around the laptop, but hey, this laptop is 5 years old! The current Toshiba notebooks on the market honestly doesn't feel any better/worse than the Gateway laptop I have now. My mother's Gateway laptop that she got last year fRom BB for $550 feels more sturdier than mine!

Btw, as far as gaming laptops go, Toshiba's build quality (TO ME) is more of a joke than Gateways! At least the Gateway doesn't look as cheap as this: http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10109506&catid=25254

nvm wei scores, but seriously consider the hd3650 for gaming, it has higher clocks than the hd2600 and can be overclocked easily to surpass a 8700m gt stock, Undervolt the cpu and overclocking the hd3650 and im positive u will be able to get one of the cheapest 900 dollar gaming laptops. Also dont bother with the 8600m gt as the performance in games tends to be slower than the hd2600, and if i recall the 9500m gs is just a optimized 8600m gt..Id ignore wei and 3dmark scores and realize you will get 10 fps more in games like crysis and bioshock, and a further 5fps with overclocking over the other laptops you mentioned, Im personally stuck with my 8600m gt and its prone to overheating when i overclock, so id say since i owned a hd2600 before this...go for ati because for some reason beyond me, shader model 3 games run smoother, dont ask why they just do..

I honestly prefer ATi graphics over NVIDIA any day of the week, but due to prices as well as folding purposes, I resorted to NVIDIA :( /ATi fanboy

I'm confused as to how a laptop with an interesting (maybe not loved by everyone) thought out paint look looks cheaper than something that is black and has an orange FX on it. I got a toshiba that runs on Windows 95 and it still works perfect not a thing wrong with it. Theres a reason Toshiba is a very large company and Gateway is significantly smaller ^^. I'm not saying there bad, they are just what you expect from a small company, if you can buy a Toshiba its a much safer bet.

I looked at the Toshiba and the Gateway before buying. Was going to buy the Toshiba at first, but honestly, it looks kind of... gay? As well as the build quality doesn't really feel that great (not that the Gateway feels that much better). But for the price you pay, you get more for your money with the Gateway then you do with the Toshiba, granted, there seems to be a huge QC issue with the Gateway P-7811FXs. Once again, as I stated earlier, this is just MY OPINION. Note how I put " (TO ME)" in my post ;)

The toshiba is a solid notebook at a good price. The mobile ati 3650 has equal performance to an 8600m GT. Its a solid midrange card now for gaming and will be for the next year or so.

if your smart go for this one, it's the best mid range gaming laptop deal in canada right now
it has the gddr3 vr of the hd2600 and looks nice in slate grey, very good looking laptop if u get the grey version, red one looks pretty ugly..but the specs are very good for the price.

    http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=74,75,76,4187&webid=752557&affixedcode=WW

comes with a printer right now and the price was 999.99 but has dropped 200 over the last month for some reason, maybe a mistake or something..

    or

    http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=74,75,76,4187&webid=752578&affixedcode=WW

If you want more hdd space and a slightly better card.
I'd take this one if i needed a new laptop but I'd take the 100 dollars off they are offering if u sign up for the citi financial mastercard, its about the same price as the gateway after the deal, but it has better build quality and better gaming specs, as well as a very very sharp looking case, looks like something worth 3000 dollars, like a glassy finish all over it..and its pretty small.. good luck in deciding but think about performance vs dollar ratio..

also something to point out, if you play crysis and say get 15-20 fps on high, it will be worth the extra 50 bucks(cost of the game) to get 18-24 fps on high(playable)..and i think notebookcheck said the hd3650 could play crysis on veryhigh with 20fps, which is better than the 4-10fps with the hd2600 or 8600m gt
