Hm I don't see why you would play offline multiplayer, you have bad internet connection?

well im off to college and they limit internet bandwith and usage. i do enjoy online but incase i wanna do some quick play w/o having to deal with wireless in random spots.

i like offline multiplayer cuz u can customize AI and teams to your liking, a different experience

BF2 has quite good bots built in, but if you've played online regularly before you will notice that they are bots easily. For standard CS there were loads of bots to download with different waypoints so you could always have different gameplay, not sure about source.

Not quite cutting-edge, but the cel-shaded XIII has some pretty fun offline modes, and you can pick it up for like $5.

BF1942 had bots as well. I thought that BF2 couldn't be played in a situation like 1vs1 real players with teams of bots supporting

Couldn't agree with you more Chaz. Still play them. Prefer 2 just for the space battles.

    Unreal Tournament 2004
Star Wars Battlefront I and II
    Battlefield 1942
    Battlefield Vietnam
    Quake III
    Quake III: Urban Terror
    Day of Defeat
    Counter Strike
    Soldier of Fortune II
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    Enemy Territory

Personally I find Battlefield 2 bot play terrible...but usuable in a fix. Bots are real stupid though, which further emphasizes the fact its intended as Multiplayer only.

UT2003 :p. Well for RTS I love the empire earth series as well as AOE series. BF2 would be nice if you could get a large enough lan going, because the single player is quite dissapointing.

Red Orchastra Practice mode is pretty good. Sometimes you can defeat the entire attacking force. Other times the AI will own you. :p You pretty much can't count of your AI team mates but I still find it a full single player expirence. :)

so nothing comes close to duking it out with other humans?

i thought the combat in the original ut was superb and fast paced, i wonder if ut 2004 lives up the title

UT2003 and UT2004 do live up to the challenge. You can set ai to anywhere from killing themselves to owning you and all your buddies. Plus I believe it has adaptive ai ...but I may be wrong.

Serious Sam and SS: The Second Encounter are awesome if you want co-op play.
