better multiplayer experience: TF2 or COD4?

So I've been playing and absolutely loving TF2 recently... its been great. At 1st, I wasn't so excited about it, but the more I played, the more I enjoyed the unique feel and depth of the game.

I'm thinking of picking up COD4, but im hesitant b/c if the multiplayer experience is not as good, I'm just going to put it on the backburner and play TF2 (and thus, waste 50 bucks).

I guess the question is simple... is COD4 (and in particular the MP experience) good enough to get me off the TF2 addiction? Any opinions would be appreciated.

 

IMO the single player is good enough by itself to justify buying it. I've played a little multiplayer and so far have been impressed by it. The single player might get you off your addiction, but I'm not sure about the multiplayer.

 

I 2nd that opinion. Cod4 is worth a buy.

I had cod4 for xbox and it's definitely worth it.

Great single player, and awesome online and couch multiplayer.

 

The only drawback of CoD4 is that it has some really hardcore players on the maps and it can get a bit frantic some times. But still, the multiplayer is great!

 

i did multiplayer on cod4 yesterday first time since i bought the game. couldn't say enjoyable because: 1) i am not familiar with the maps. 2) i used to play bf2142, so everything are happening way too fast for me in cod4. 3) seems lot of wall hackers going around

 

No, certain bullets can penetrate walls.

 

The single player is totally awesome.

The multiplayer is seriously amazing.

I saw some players killed others w/o even seeing them. also how come I saw some people reload much quicker than others?

 

Reloading quicker with the same gun? That's strange.

but cod4 kicks serious arse. although i play on severly limited servers where you can't have a pathetic last stand martyrdom perk............nor the dodgy lame weapons. or chopers and crap. makes for a better game. (5 on 5 hq this is)

 

I do agree with Jeff. Martyrdom is a joke.

 

I'll be the lone voice of dissent on the CoD4 experience, although I haven't played multiplayer. I'm coming from a CS/CS:S/HL2DM/TF2 background and to me, CoD4 took realistic to the point that it stopped being fun to play. I never even finished the single player campaign because I got so bored.

 

i quite enjoyed the single player......................best fps single player experience ever.

not sure how much more realistic cod4 is than css but all i know is s & d gets deadly boring and hq makes an awesome change. (heck i still play CoD1 i can't talk)

 

What server(s) do you play on?

 

friends servers..............we play together regularly.

 

I've played both, and both are enjoyable. I say you should pick up CoD4! You won't regret it!

Go for COD4. This game is so good. They made a very good job in bringing the series in the present warfare. It's the most played FPS right now
