my http://ca.lge.com/en/products/model/detail/e300expressdualseries_e300a.cpb1a9.jhtml]laptop has an ati radeon xpress x1250. i was poking around the bios and came across a setting called 'uma frame buffer size' with the following parameters:
- 128
- 256
- 512
- xp recommended
- vista basic logo
- vista premium logo
what do the last three parameters mean exactly? i was unable to find any really informative explanations.
thanks!

It's the amount of shared memory you want the graphics to dedicate to itself. Basically, just go through them all and then run some game tests to see which fits your needs best. If you don't game, then just set it to the lowest value.

based on the notes, the 'vista basic logo' setting requires 512mb. but how does this differ from the '512' setting? and how much memory does 'xp recommended' allocate?
i don't game, but wouldn't i see an improvement in performance with a higher setting? -
