oh my....
ive spent a bit of time playing through bioshock for the first time......simply a class game...... so far im playing through Arcadia and to this point the game has been a pleasure to play through, the stages are imaginative and i just keep on getting wowed around every turn. enemies, music rapture all just amaze me in there uniqueness.....
*potential spoilers below*
when i freed my first little sister the music that is played grabbed at my heartstrings and yanked tight.. the citizens are suffering and i feel for there suffering it kinda makes it hard to blow them away...the game just sucks you in in every aspect.
who thought up this stuff.......mind blowing, simply mind blowing.
this game may have just made it into my top 5 games of all time and i haven't even finished it.
what are others experiences with the game....this has got me really worked up for bioshock2 next year.
ps i know im a couple of years late with this game but i couldnt contain myself any longer...oh how i wish i was part of the buzz when it was first released![]()

Just wait until you get to the end. It has a simply remarkable story line. It has some great plot twists, too
I absolutely LOVED Bioshock. Great game play, great enemies, great levels, and great surprises. Scary at times, too, which is always a plus. The atmosphere of Rapture is also fantastic. Like you said, it really sucks you in.
Bioshock is my second favorite game of all time. The only game I like better is COD4: Modern Warfare. Bioshock had a great storyline and great game play, but for a game, COD4 can't be beat. -
One of my all time favs, I might replay it again soon.

Yeah it's an unbelievable game.
I'm finishing The Witcher (almost finished it the first time before real-life caught up with me - determined to finish this time), then a BioShock replay is next on my list. -
Great game, downloaded the trial once, played it 24/7 ^^
-
Yeap, its definatly worthy of a second run through, and for a game thats acouple of years old it really looks fantastic..
Strangely though i have to run it in D310 (xfire/options/game/rendering(which im presuming is xfires way of saying DX10) to get xfire to run) i cant notice any real difference in graphics but it takes a chunk out of my FPS using the machine in my sig...still over 30 though. -
Played this game so many times! Can't wait for Bioshock 2 to come out!

If you haven't seen it yet, look here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4883856 -
Thanks or the link ^^ im really amped for bioshock2 dont really mind when its released tbh, would rather it take longer and be another class game than be pushed out to soon and be sub-par like so many games these days.

You know whats weird? I never really got into Bioshock.
I've played it quite a bit and still haven't finished yet because I never could get excited about the prospect of playing it. I'm not saying that its a bad game, it is very good, but it really doesn't grab me the way that some of my favorites have. -
For me as far as FPS go this is the best ive played to date...yes including CoD4, i love the feel of the game, the AI is really sharp, healing, dodging, trying to flank and team up to take you down...
*NOTE*
Sorry i realise this is probably the 100th post on bioshock but hey gotta let the excitment out right. -
I really liked the scary moments,

To me, its almost kinda a standard FPS game with a decent story line. There is little to no RPG elements (which I am a huge fan of) and everything seems kinda derivative. The level design is nice and the story is pretty good but again, I didn't find it to be terribly innovative other than being a successfully executed FPS with a half decent storyline. -
All fair and valid reasons mate, im also a fan of alot of the games you like, fallout3, NWN etc and arnt a huge fps fan either, but for me bioshock isnt about fps as much as the envolved and deeply complex storyline, that sucked me in. I think i would have enjoyed it equally as much if it have have been a third person shooter, or even a rpg...the story is that damn good...of course thats just my opinion mate, im not trying to change your mind at all...well not much anyway
-
I bought it like 6 months and still havent finished it. I dont really like it. It doesnt feel like a solid fps with good feedback when you use the weapons. Its just all too clunky and almost impossible to apply skill and tactics to shooting people and stuff.
-
Its great hearing different peoples feedback and experience with the game.
I personally dont even think of it as a typical fps, i know thats what it is but it doesnt feel it to me, games like cod4 etc are in that mold, bioshock is more like a adventure game that has the fp view rather than topdown or over the shoulder etc anyway please keep the experiences coming. -
Bioshock hmm... I played it when it first came out but didn't finish it. Can't remember where I stopped though. All I remember is that I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot and the story seem interesting.
Oh well, I guess I shall reinstall the game soon and continue from where I stopped. -
-
currently playing it over again on xhox, can't wait for bioshock 2
-
Played it twice. Can't wait for the sequel
-
Well, I also played this game relatively late (one year later), but it is an amazing experience in the level of design (and history) of science fiction game.
-
-
I dunno... I find it a bit suffocatingly linear. But that's a very minor point against arguably one of the better games ever
-
), seemed like I was hanging around in a place called "Fort Frolic", which is like a large area that connects to a lot of different smaller areas and they're all filled with different enemies and upgrade machines.
I think the reason I stopped playing last time is that I found myself quick-saving and quick-loading a lot of times (way too much) because I'm always trying out different stuff and looking for the most efficient way to save bullets/abilities & trying to prevent myself from losing too much health when fighting enemies...lol, and it gets boring after a while of nonstop quick-loading/saving coz it doesn't really get me anywhere and I kept getting myself stuck in that same area...lol >_<
Anyway just now I was randomly playing around with a few hacked security cameras and turrets and started lurking enemies into them and let the turrets do the killings while I loot from their dead bodies...
I guess I really should move on now. lol -
Yes mate, let it go, move on, im all for looting and investigating but somes times we just have to let it go.......and move on lol
bioshock......pure class
