I use alcohol 120% with little problem. and you want it to burn kinda slow, with games there is very little margin for error before the disk will not work. fast burning can cause many errors.

He doesn't mean slow, he means ridiculously slow. I think I had the same problem fittersman has. My computer burned at a speed so slow, it would take about 2 days to complete the burn process. I think that isn't normal. If it finishes after 2 days, the new CD is probably not working because if it takes 2 days to complete, who says the quality of the new CD will be ok?
I think I got my problem solved after having reinstalled windows XP, but that may be a bit too much for a few CDs. I also don't know if that would solve your problem. -
i always use my discs once. That is to install the game. Always use no cd/dvd cracks and images. Saves my discs from getting spoilt

I second mini-images, cracks are illegal some places and can mess up online play for some games that checksum the game exe as a security measure.
Also there are better ways to pirate games and most people use mini images to avoid having to use/scratch the original discs, so it is a less touchy subject than cracks or copying.
www.gamecopyworld.com is a good place to look. -
and thanks for the input everyone, ill give the suggestions a try -
Actually if you own the game no cd is entirely legal.
Its actually the opposite is illegal. The starforce protection is subject to class action lawsuits.
copy with nero, go to gamecopyworld.com and use the no cd. Entirely legal. It is illegal to force you to use the cd. -
Use CloneCD. It gets 1:1 copies. :]

I especially like it when games don't require the CD/DVD to play, officially. I'm thinking the UT2003/2004 series and CoH. Yeah, I like that cause I hate switching CDs.

I prefer installing the game and playing from the 'puter. Originally, the CDs were required mainly for the "movie" portions of games. HDs are big enough now that it seems unnecessary to require the CD for playing or for online gaming. -
I use 120%. The etas are whacked up though sometimes. Usually it will speed up after 10-15 min at the latest.

I like the fact that with Microsoft FSX you spend ages installing the game with the two dvd's then they never ask you for them again! Same with Supreme Commander too. The game has never asked me for the disc and that is without using images.
When playing games online always make sure you have updated the game to the latest patch then use an image for that version of the game -
