    hey guys im need to know wats teh max resolution that the 8600mgt on teh dell inspiron 1520 can support cause im buying one with 1440x900 but it'll be a watse it the gpu can use tha res.........ALSO IS IT BTTR JUS TOT SAVE THA MINE SPENT ON THE 1440X900 AND PLACE IT TOWARDS 2 GIG OF RAM? cause iheard tha the quality btwn the res i barely noticeable and that 2 gig will improve gaming alot? ty for help guys

    The 8600M GT should be capable of any resolution you'll find on a laptop screen. My 8400M was malfunctioning, not detecting the max resolution properly so it would've let me set 3000 something pixels of horizontal resolution and over 2000 vertical so it wont be a problem. I have a desktop with 1Gb DDR2 533MHz RAM and 2Gb DDR2 667MHz RAM. The desktop runs at 1440x900 and the laptop 1280x800 and performance wise i cant see much difference. Ran Battlefront II on my laptop the other day and it seemed to perform a little smoother than my desktop when they were both running at native resolution. What other screen resolution is an option for you?

    well its either 1440x900 or 1280x800 but now im just goin with the 1200x800 and saving money for 2 gig of ram......... cause after some we researh i foudn that the diff btwn is barely noticable and tha 1280x800 can be bttr sometimes lol

    Dude... I think you destroyed spell-check.

    Get the 1440x900 screen, you will regret not getting it later, and your ram can be upgraded at any time, NOT your screen.

    i'd get a 1280*800(maybe cuz i got one myself). it's perfect for me + the gaming becomes a little more future proof on the native resolution.
