As long as the Disc isn't scratched you should be fine. Also you should find out if the original owner registered the game.
-
don't forget the handbook/booklet. can be very important sometimes.
-
will it be playable online as the cd key would have been used on different computers?
-
Depends, most companies just make it so that the same key can't be used by multiple people at one time. You should be fine.

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
I just bought Far Cry 2 Gamestop pre-order edition for $15 used. Used is dabomb!
I always ask these questions now.
All original packaging & contents included (books, discs, extras)?
Have you uninstalled the game on all computers it was running on?
Any scratches or damage to the discs?
Has the CD Key been flagged by the publisher for misuse?
Sometimes people don't even know what I am talking about but I like to be upfront before I go to the trouble of meeting with the person. Then I give the disc a good look over before handing over the cash. So far I am pleased with all my used game purchases.
Publishers are trying to circumvent the resale of games with upcoming exclusive DLC only for original owners. I am not sure how all that is going to work but I don't really care at this point.
Good luck and enjoy -
I never register my games just in case I do sell them. Farcry 2 does have the revoke system for when you uninstall it, it has a manual revoke or you can connect online to revoke your cd key.

It's pretty safe to used games, most of the time anyways. By the way nice looking avatar. (I'm also looking forward for the movie).

Just be carefull, some people continue to use the CD-keys, even after they sell them. Burning the media is also a negative option for PC games, hence why most places stopped selling used PC games. (EB, Gamestop, etc...)
