Does anyone have command and conquer tiberian wars, or whatever the newest one is called?
If so, is it decent? Will it run on an ati X1400?

    On another note,

any rts fan should try out this game called glest.

    It is free and amazing!

I have the lastest C&C 3 Tiberium Wars. Much like it's predecessors in units and strategy, much nicer graphics. Also I've noticed I can squeeze more units into the map before I see a slowdown.

Dunno bout the x1400, but my 7700 runs smooth at 1680x1050 (native) some medium most high settings and its good.

But yes I have noticed it is very CPU hungry, my desktop athlon 64 runs it well until the map is full of moving armies, as my g1's dual core seems to handle it better.

Either way it is a great game and if you like the series this will not disappoint.

System Requirements Lab annoys me slightly though...

They told me the only reason my computer cannot run C&C3 at recommended settings and at a good performance is because I don't have Windows Vista.

You'll be able to run it on low settings. I ran it on my x300 the other day, I really had to bump things down though.

Why don't you download the demo and give it a test spin?

there is actually a post if you search "x1400 screen shots" or something similar to it and there are a bunch of c&c3 shots..... i believe the poster can run C&C3 at low to medium settings at native resolution to get smooth framerates. it looked pretty nice with the x1400 to be honest with you.
i dont think you'll have any problems with it.

I play it on my go 7400 and my boyfriend plays it on his x1400 with medium settings, native resolution. It's probably not ideal for competitive play, but for AI battles it's great.

Games slows down to below 20fps when heavy lighting is in place, such as ion bomb explosion. Any patch I could use to modify the lighting for more performance? I donnt want to lower the settings across the board because other than that it runs beautifully.

tried it different settings, the game got a lot darker. The lighting affects are all gone, the only thing that affects my performance is the ion strike in one of the picture u post hi11. The explosion drops my fps to 15~18. Other than that its between low20s-hi20s.
