I am having a problem with 3D accelerated games on my C90. Recently I have been playing WoW and FEAR and both of these games have graphical problems, although minor. When I first start warcraft it will flash wedge or pie shaped glitches originating from the center of the screen and going out past the edge. They will stay on screen for fractions of a second at a time and are random where they appear. This usually goes away after a few moments; sometimes not. Seems to happen most often when the gpu is cold.

FEAR has a slightly different problem. It blacks out pieces of a texture for a fraction of a second. Happens most of the time, cold or warm gpu.

I have Speedfan and the temp never goes above 75c. Temp is not a problem. I have tried a few different drivers but no change in occurrence. Using Win XP, 90w power supply. I have searched and determined that it is not tearing, artifacts, or whatever causes this. Any ideas?

I'll try to post pics or video of both when I get home, since it is impossible to describe visual objects sometimes. :p

    no clue

Perhaps windows updates? BIOS issues? You C90 is identical to mine except you have some extra ram and XP whereas i have vista. I have noticed though that some games don't take wel to the overcloking. Try making sure nothing is being overclocked and see if the problems persist.

Thanks for the reply. No, windows fully updated, BIOS just recently updated. Running under standard clocks (right now when I overclock I get really bad artifact issues). Videos for WoW (which is worse than I have seen it) and FEAR are up. Recorded with camera phone but you can see the problem in WoW. FEAR is a little harder to see.

The shadow glitch in fear is a problem with the nvidia graphics drivers. last year there were a few drivers released by nvidia that claimed to fix this. if i remember correctly the problem was fixed....so i guess its back! the graphics problem in wow is most likely not hardware related unless you are overclocking. My reasoning for that is that if your gpu's 3d portion was fried or broken, fear would have the same graphics corruption as wow. In other words if one game has 3d proplems they all would. To isolate the problem I would reinstall os, install different video drivers, install directx and then try it. if you are using a patched version of wow try the stock version first then increment the patches one at a time.

thanks for easing my worries. I thought my card was going bad. I will try new graphics drivers and will see if there is a patch out for FEAR. WoW's updates are manditory so I can't try that. Others have had problems with warcraft but they vary. I cant reformat and reinstall right now, but will when I get a chance.

I will also try another game with a different graphics engine and see what I get from that. Maybe STALKER, or GRAW2....
