Honestly, for various different reasons I can't stand playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare anymore. I mean sure the single-play was fun, but the series as become way too arcade and facts of realism have weakened with each release. Modern Warfare 2 looks even worse in my opinion when it comes to any significance to reality (loving the heatseaking AT4? Or maybe the gangster sideways handling of a gun). I think it's safe to assume how the movie could potentially turn out in contrast to how he series has been progressing and for that matter I think I'm done with the franchise.

I need gunfires and bombblasts...blood and shade...ohh yehhh...COD rules
-
Interesting... I demand amazing special effects and lots of gunfire in the movie.
-
jeez dont be so pendantic, you should know that the game isnt made to your own standards.

I love COD in all aspects. I wonder how I will spend 2 weeks more waiting for it. My friends gonna me off showing their X-box version. I am having a feeling to get a sledge hammer to destroy their pride.

Call of Duty movie : random soldiers shooting at each other. One of them will survive. Viewers see some flashbacks of his life (only shooting) and then comes the ending credits.
-
i cant actually remember a decent game to movie port, so CoD the movie will not be on my top 100,000 movies to watch list
, they are really riding the CoD franchise to the limits are they not.
@ Akuma exactly right mate, cant see this being as good as say a Hamburger Hill or Full Metal Jacket. -
This is what happens when game studios and publishers try to translate a game into an entirely different medium that is out of their level. A Call of Duty movie would be nothing more than a mindless action movie with no plot and no characters.
If you want a better rendition of Call of Duty than what the developers managed, watch Saving Private Ryan. The game developers were literally copying from this movie. The whole game series is entirely unoriginal. -
I have to agree with Bog, stick to what your best at which is games. And if you really want a COD movie, stick to the classics.
-
It is funny that many missions in Call of Duty were mostly based on WWII movies that were based on the real thing. They replicated the bridge from "A Bridge Too Far" down to the millimeter.
Anyway, any call of duty movie based in the present day or near future is going to be a cheesy joke just like any other movie in the genre. -
That's funny, I never noticed that before!
-
Call of Duty MW 2 rocks and if u don't like it don't post here...
-
these days they are trying to make every franchise into a movie, Halo, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, now MW, i think it's pretty stupid, but hey who am i to judge?
-
Bioshock would be a cool movie though...
-
You are ryo1000 to judge.
-
Whats this topic firstly got to do with CoD MW2 and secondly MW2 hasnt been released yet so we dont know how good it is, hence your "MW2 rocks" comment seems alittle misplaced.
-
Well cod 4 was dam good, campaign and story behind it was great, if any movie, it should be based on that
-
When I think about a COD movie (assuming its based on COD4) G.I. Joe comes into mind.
-
Could we hope for something of the same magnatude as G.I joe?
-
The amusing part of this is that COD is almost a game made from an assortment of movies (Saving Private Ryan, Enemy at the Gates, etc).
It's just going to be one endless cycle
.
-
It's not really that amusing when you realize that you're paying for a plagiarized piece of work, but I know what you mean.
-
Alien_M4v3r1kk Notebook Evangelist
To say only Call of Duty plagiarized is like saying Ubisoft didn't look at World in Conflict whilst developing End War.
We also have Medal of Honor, Brothers in Arms, Company of Heroes etc. Sure, they're all based on their separate stories, and some even have different types of gameplay, but you'd be wrong to not admit that the franchies don't take looks at each other.
Anyways, a lot of users don't know that Call of Duty is "plagiarizing" and it doesn't affect them. Also, plagiarizing is in quotes, because most of the Call of Duty series (aside from the Modern Warfare fare) are based on real historical events. So you can expect it to borrow from actual battles that may have had movies based on them.
Now over with that rant and on to another.
Some people seem to not admit, or "forget", that Call of Duty has a storyline, which is quite interesting with big characters like Price, Sullivan etc.
In my opinion this seems like a great movie opportunity and something that'll be fun to watch with the pals. -
mate the story is perfect for the game, where the story is complimented by the action of the game itself, to make a successful movie is another completely different kettle of fish, i personally dont see the story as being movie worthy, but hey thats what difference of opinion is all about right

plagiarism is an extreme word to use when describing CoD4.
i do agree that the movie would be horrible. -
I am more specifically referring to Call of Duty 2. Call of Duty 4 is somewhat original but worse than CoD2, in that the plotline and characters are cliches.
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
its definitely super-cliche, but the game itself is really top-notch if the arcadey-ness of it sits well with you. that element wouldn't cross over well to the movie platform.
i don't know much about CoD2. -
The original was a lot more movie based.
