If i buy a dv5z with IGP now, would i be able to get an ATI H3450 or 3650 fix it to my notebook
-
No, you will never be able to upgrade it. As a matter of fact, you cannot upgrade most notebook GPUs ever.
-
are you sure???
coz i am i won't have a discrete graphics first. So my graphics slot would be empty right? can't i later on fix a discrete card to it???
(like we do in desktops) -
No, if you dont select a machine with a dedicated GPU they will give you a motherboard with an IGP and no slot for a gpu

sesshomaru Suspended Disbelief!
There would be no slot in your mobo. A laptop isn't built like a desktop.. .

GPUs are either in the chipset (integrated) or soldered onto the notebook (in this laptops's case, along with most others). Integrated GPU motherboards do NOT have the extra connections for a dedicated GPU, and dedicated GPU motherboards (most of them) cannot have the GPU swapped.
You can NEVER upgrade an IGP notebook, NEVER. And HP has never let any of their consumer line laptops have an upgrade option.
If you still aren't sure...check out the sticky in this forum...where it says you cannot upgrade the GPU. -
IGP's can never be upgraded. Not even on desktops.

can a discrete graphics card be later fixed into a dv5z
