Blizzard games are generally quite scalable. So I'd guess it will be fine. If not, and when SC2 is finally released, it may be time for a replacement laptop anyway. ;)

Hard to speculate since the game isn't released..but the 3200 is a decent card, and performs 4x better than an Intel 4500MHD. If it can handle RA3 or Tiberium Wars, I'm guessing it can handle SC2.

When is SC2 coming out anyway?

I have heard from someone Beta testing the game that the game is even more graphics intensive than Supreme Commander.

Well when a game is in beta testing, it usually hasn't been optimized yet so its requirements should naturally be higher than it will be once it comes out.

Like all of the above users said , yes , you might be able to run it at on decent graphics settings . But since it is RTS , and you can have a whole bunch of units on the field , plus add all the special effects and things can get shi**y .

If you watch Zerg death animations video there is a little battle of Zerg vs Protos . You can clearly tell that FPS is reduced by all that activity , unlike when they show 5-10 units vs 50 if not more in that battle video .

Hopefully the game will run smooth when it comes out . Also hopefully blizzard will make settings adjustable so that many users can run it on their computers at a decent good looking graphical settings .

Im sure SC2 will = Quad Core FTW

All that multi unit stuff is harder on the cpu than the gpu due to AI and things.

When your slower dual core cpu gets bogged down too much there is not enough cpu overhead left to fuel the gpu. Im quite postive that this game will both support and run best with a quad core machine.

I cant wait for it to come out, and I hope it has a very active custom game network like WC3 does.

I know Blizzard used Intel's GPA(Graphics Performance Analyzer, which only runs on GMA 4500 ATM)for upcoming title optimizations. From the screenshots at Intel's presentation it looked like Diablo 3, but what's to say SC2 didn't use it? I'm guessing at the worst it'll meet minimum system requirements.

Why do people always ask these questions AFTER buying? lol

If you're told no, you can't play the game you want to... what are you gonna do?

But the question still remains 'what minimum requirements?'.

That will be defined by Blizzard and the core hardware samples pulled from beta.

If a game was simply designed to 'meet minimum system requirements' then I should be able to blow the dust off my IBM 8088 w/ 2MB RAM to play. ;)

Its not like they can do anything except get a new laptop or use a new system, but its nice to know if you should buy the game or not.

Of course in this case this game is not released yet so nobody really knows.
