well i got the xps 1530 and i was wondering is it possible to upgrade the gpu to maybe avoid the over heating problem? or to even just get more power?
i know most laptops are not upgradeable but i remember reading somewhere that someone said some of the dells are slightly upgradeable so i was just wondering if the xps is possible and to which gpu? rite now i ahve the 8400m gs

Nope, unfortunately that not gona happen with the XPS 1530m.
-
Your graphics card is soldered to your motherboard. Though i think this is possible with the 1730.

alrite thx

U can probably upgrADe it to the 8600 u got to call up dell.
-
aww should of got the 1730....lol its too big for me anyways
-
hmm really i can get a 8600? maybe ill ask them rite now im talking to a tech on the chat and their sending me a new screen have a samsung hopefully and asked for an lg and said theyll try their best to send me an lg =-)
and is the 8600 that much better than the 8400? -
-
8600, is far better then the 8400. Hopefully they might be able to upgrade for you, But at what price?
-
Yes you could do it, but you will need a whole new motherboard with the 8600gt on it. It will be costly and probably more cost effective to sell as is and rebuy another one with the gpu you would want.
-
be careful though, nvidia has acknowledged that its batch of 8600m gt has the highest rate of failure. but fortunately companies like apple, dell etc have provided users with a 8600m gt an extended one year warranty. so you should have 2years warranty on your graphics card.
can i upgrade my gpu?
