can the gtx 660m handle skyrim on high settings with texture pack?

I am interested in purchasing a new laptop and am willing to spend up to $2,000 on it. There are several laptops with video cards capable of playing Skyrim on even Ultra with modifications, but they do not meet my requirements because they are much heavier than laptops with <= 660m graphics cards, and additionally I do not like that they place the venting in the rear of the laptop rather than the side. I am debating if I should go ahead and purchase a laptop with a 660m graphics card or if I should wait until the 700m series comes out, which will also bring the benefit of being able to get a Haswell processor as they will probably both release early next year. It seems as if the 760m will be a reworked version of the 670mx, so I imagine it will be slightly faster than it and also reduce the heat enough that models without rear vents will be viable. I have seen on notebookcheck that the 660m can only obtain 50 frames per second on high settings with Skyrim, however I have seen a variety of other reviews claiming that it can even play it on ultra settings, particularly with Asus laptops for some reason. So my question is for anyone who has a 660m and has used it to play Skyrim, what sort of FPS do you manage to get and are you able to use texture packs and/or other modifications as well?

 

Absolutely. I have a slightly weaker 650M and I use the Ultra settings with the official high-res texture pack.
