    can't install NFS:Carbon, and Fifa 2007

    i have the most updated drivers for everything on this laptop, yet i'm still gettin these error messages after the first step of the installation(putting in code)

    NFS:Carbon
    tells me i need the most current version of Direct X 0

    Fifa 2007 tells me i need the same but for direct X 9.0 C

    other games like Madden 2008,and Fifa 2008 Demo work fine on my computer

    To be honest I don't know what to tell you about that. You could attempt to download install the DirectX files again just in case. Perhaps try running the installations for the game as adminstrator, or hmm. I'm thinking it must be some kind of error with the games themselves if you have other games installed with the same requirements and no problems.


    Do you have any other information that might be useful? Do the CDs for install looked scratched, or is some kind of Anti-Virus running while installing? Anything of that nature?

    when i bought these games i had to reinstall dx after i had installed them even though i had done it a few days earlier. You can use the same file and it should work. Also update both games fully including the transfer updates!

    i figured it out..i had to right click on the set up file and enable it on compatibility mode for wiindows 2008

    NFS: Carbon may crash even under compatibility mode.

    I got it working by installing it on my XP partition.
