    hello...
i have a acer gemstone blue 6920G with a 9500M GS... i tried to overclock it with ATITools 0.27 / RivaTunner 2.09 / nVidia nTune, i can chance the 2d and 3d low power.. but 3d performance i can't push over 475mhz on core...

    im using forceware 174.93....

if necessary i can flash the bios normally??

    ps: i know to overclock, im overclocker in desktop... Q6600 @ 4.4ghz // 7900GT 470/1370 @ 550/1800 ..

but in this notebook its not easy

why do you mean by cant? can you not keep the clock in place or is the card not stable at that clock. if its the later, than thats your over clock limit. And all you really want to overclock is the 3d performance setting not the other 2. as far as I know, the 9500m gs is the same as the ddr2 version of the 8600gt which doesnt overclock well

Try 169.04. They worked for me. However, the Bluray player doesn't work with them.

It's not the driver, as I have been successfully overclocking with every Forceware release over the past couple months. Use RivaTuner and make sure you're doing it right.

If you wanna OC using higher drivers than 169.04, you will need to flash the vBIOS

    mcurran,

could you type the process steps??

    I mean:

    1) Uninstall old drivers.
    2) Start windows in safe mode and run driver sweeper
    3) Reboot in normal mode and Install new driver
    .... and so on

I'm missing something and I cannot OC at all.

    Thank you.

    Thank you eleron911,

I've follow the steps strictly with no luck.

It seems that the problem is RivaTuner wich doesn't detect clocks correctly or maybe that this GPU has "too early" drivers.

I'm waiting for some more advice.

    Thanks.

I'm not having issues with RivaTuner on my F8Sn which has the same GPU. Mine clocks to 515/475.

The 185.20 works great and also have great 3D results (check my sig. for a comparison). I have managed to achieve 660 MHz on GPU and 480 MHz on memory, without heating it up too much.
