i got a bunch of games i can play but i cant seem to stop waiting for assassins creed 2.
when in jan will this game be released??
-
I'm looking forward to seeing this on the PC aswell.
For the UK, it appears to be 26th February
-
wow thats kinda a long wait.
shouldnt this be out by jan 10? -
That's what I was expecting to see, but it's been pushed back a few times.
I hope it's worth the wait
-
alot of people are waiting for this game considering how many people made fun of the first version. its like when it first came out everyone was like this game rocks. then everyone was like no this game is lame. way overhyped. you could go into gamestop and see about 45 used copys of assasins creed. then again out of nowhere everyones like yay assasin creed rocks. cant wait for the second version. ??? lol ok. i liked the first game so it doesnt matter to me its just funny the way people have treated that game.
-
i liked the first game but i just wish they used a different game engine.AC I was k a resource hog. im sure its optimized better now for AC 2 but wish they used an engine like batman AA which just scaled nicely and dint you as much resources.
other than that the game was awesome and this looks to be even better.
too bad the release date was moved -
I just hope my good old laptop (from 2007) will be able to handle it. I had to run AC1 with directx9 cuz direct x10 was to heavy for my 2ghz core 2 duo (you needed 2.2 ghz according to the box).
-
Blame your GPU, your cpu is fine.
-
dx10 sucks bigtime
but ac1 was the only game to have better performance in dx10 i think -
It delivered far superior anti-aliasing performance with DirectX 10.1 running on ATI graphics cards, if I recall correctly. Overall DX10 hasn't been very effective in delivering either new effects or better performance, though.
-
I thought the game ran quite well, beautiful graphics, loved clambering around the cities!
Side missions were boring as hell, but I did enjoy the story along with its clever cut-scenes. Saw the second one being played on a mates PS3, I want the better graphics and k/b/mouse combo! Bring on the PC release. -
I played the 1st one on PC, but prefer the gamepad of a console for the 2nd.
-
i guess the control scheme really boils down to preference.
hated the kb/mouse combo at first but kinda got used to it the more i got into the game.
i really wasnt into the game gameplay-wise, especially those running side quests. but i pushed on cause the story was just so compelling.
was kinda skeptical at first on AC2 as i couldnt fathom how an assassin could fit into renaissance italy. but after seeing the trailer and reading some reviews, im hyped. they really did a good job.
i also love the fact that AC ports very well to the pc, ubisoft really took time to make sure AC pc was a kickass game. im sure theyll do the same thing for AC2 -
The game is ok. Good but not great.
Excellent story (gets deep at parts) and voice acting, but it still gets repetitive. Also too easy on default difficulty. -
well i didnt find it easy, as this is not really the kind of games i play.
but ya kinda repetitive. but the story drives you on.
its what michael crichton's book, Timeline, should have been.
kudos to ubisoft for thinking up this one -
I'll just go ahead and lump AC2 in with L4D2. After playing AC1 and LFD1, for about an hour each, I can't imagine how they both spawned sequels !
-
it could have something to do with ac1 selling 6million copies and lfd close to 3 million, but im not sure
-
game comes out in March for PC users lol long wait
-
Sales could have something to do with HYPE also !
-
true , but 6million+ copies and almost a billion dollars in revenue is alittle too much hype dont you think
-
the game was very repetitive, i didn't like that at all, it was like a tv series full of fillers, i would rate it 7/10 for the sake of the good looking graphics and interesting engine
-
yeah i hated the running and killing guards with a timer thingy but i liked the boss kills and story and that made it a game worth playin for me
-
I agree, but as a foot note about the repetition I found it astonishing how the developers could have missed such a problem in the gameplay. My understanding is that many games undergo testing by volunteers; a big-budget game like AC should be no exception. Why didn't they address this weakness in the gameplay?
-
there is a huge gap between 1 and 2, gameplay wise, but i found the graphics to be almost the same. 1 compared to 2 is tooooooooooooooooooo repetitive, but its ok because the story is insanely good and it was the base for the future of AC2 and AC3
-
AC1 is way up there in my favorite games list. To me, it had a great story that constantly dropped very subtle hints about what the big climax was going to be. I also found it (and still find it) to be extremely fun to massacre guards for an hour or so. Let the bodies pile up, leave my sword or dagger unsheathed and just murder anyone and everyone. I've kept myself in the dark on info in AC2 because I want it to be a huge surprise when I play it.
That said, if the Black Edition of AC2 is available for PC (and in Canada), I'm going to buy that version. I can't wait for March. -
They did address the issue. The game is much less repetitive than the first one - all the quests are much more varied and there are more minigames. But alas, there's only so much you can put into a game like Assassin's Creed. You're pretty much limited to platforming and basic fighting. I honestly don't know what more the developers could of done - though one idea is to increase the activity outside the Animus, and have you play as Desmond more.
-
Yea I wasn't quite sure how they'd fix the repetition issue. Guess this game is at least worth a rental for me
-
Played this game on the 360. I can honestly say, it is easily one of the BEST games I have played within the past few years.
If you haven't played it yet on console, and are debating whether to get it on PC when it comes out, don't hesitate to buy it. It is truly an amazing game.
Already looking forward to my second playthrough. -
yeah. i think this is a game that would actually make a kickass movie
-
QFT.
Just started my second play-through today. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Just can't wait for this game.
-
I'm tempted every day to buy AC2 for 360, but I know that when compared to the PC version, it will be half the experience on console than it will be on PC for me. Why? Well I use a Dual Shock 3 for the controller (wireless), I like to take memorable/funny screenshots with Fraps for myself, and the graphics on the 360 version just won't even be able to touch a powerful PC's graphics. Besides, I can still output the video to my HDTV and play with a controller. It's like a pseudo-console experience.
-
im glad to hear that AC2 isnt as repetitive as AC1.
im not an action/platformer kinda guy so this is good news for me indeed.
almost everyone says that AC2 is better than AC1. -
Do you guys recommend playing and completing the first Assassins Creed before I try this 2nd one?
I am tempted but wonder if I will regret it and become lost or not understand the story. -
or does anyone know of a youtube link where i can just watch the story as a whole?
-
Yes, definitely play the first one. It would basically be like watching the 2nd Matrix movie, without watching the first.
-
Well, actually I for me the game engine was quite good, stable and able to achieve good-looking environments without requiring an 8800m or so.
As for repetitiveness, I found actually not too much as long as you stick to the main mission and avoid wasting time with the sub-quests. -
didnt you have to do a number of side quests for the main quests- assassinations to unlock
-
love the story , hate the quest ... its just as the developers already run out of ideas
-
played the AC2 on ps3 its damm fun trust me! now i cnnt wait for the PC version
-
they should make a movie of this
cant wait for assassins creed 2
