    whene i play NFS Carbon the FPS alright 30 to 40

    ==>>but for a while the FPS go down to 10 or less then increas to 30 or 40

    I am using 169.04 driver
    on vista basic

    Have you tried changing compatability to XP? Right click on shortcut or exe then choose compatability tab then try changing the options. On 64bit Vista HP I had to run it as administrator with XP compatability and some of the other options ticked too. Not sure what to suggest other than that I'm afraid.
