I got carbon to run in x3100 under xp but the frames rates are very slow,

I only get around 5-7 fps, and all the processes including explorer from task manager are closed
Could I do something to get carbon running smoothly?...

nope.... the X3100 is an intergrated videocard (low end of the IGPs)... not going to get any better.

    Please read the GPU Guide.

The only chance you might have is getting an external videocard like:
    - ASUS XG Station (which comes with a desktop Nvidia 8600 GT)

Newer better drivers might help. MIGHT and NOT significantly.

Get a new laptop or a proper gaming desktop.

Thanks willy but i have the latest drivers for my video card. I am currently running windows xp sp3 but i heard that vista is able to play games under software mode. I haven't tried it yet but It seems that i could get better frames because of the new beta driver for vista.

Although im not sure the beta drivers for x3100 is only for vista, cause when i tried it on xp. It failed to load.

I realy need some kind of tweak to disable the visual treatment.
Anyone knows if there's config program for the game engine.

NFS Carbon on my Xbox 1 looks much better than that and it never slows down to a paltry 19 FPS even when there's a lot of action going on. -_- Maybe for RPG games, 19 FPS is *possibly* playable, but for racing games? No way.

    @ 660hpv12

    I wouldn't trust the rating.

    Yup,
But the only down side is that you need a fast cpu, because the game totally depends on it.
So it means that if you have a intel atom then... you should probably go get a gaming laptop, but if you alteast have a core 2 duo or higher then you could play most games in software mode...
