better, and bf3 runs much more smooth for me, no stutters or frame drops, 12.7 is the best so far for me. Im sure i can hit over 7k easy now in 3dmark11 also

edit: i take that back, bf3 still is crap with vsync on, i get micro stutter or frame skips here and there and its very annoying, it has to be the game, no other game does this

I think I'm going to update for the first time since 11.11. RadeonPro didn't work with anything higher, but now that ATI has incorporated custom profiles for individual games in their drivers (apparently they've been doing this for several months, and I was really late finding out), I don't need it anymore.

max payne 3 runs about 4-6 fps better, in one huge scene i was getting about 63fps, now its around 68-70, max settings. Games run smoother but i also cant overclock as high, and i notice in certain games my gpu usage went up. Max payne was only using about 45-55% of my gpu on 12.5beta, now its 50-70% on 12.7.

ok guys...i've only had time to run one test:

    AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2820QM Processor,Alienware M17xR3 score: P6791 3DMarks

    12.5 modded is faster...

HOWEVER, one thing that i notice is that my screen is brighter. This driver just fixed the 12.5 modded dim screen issue, so i'm keeping it for now :)

Now, I'll play a couple hrs of Diablo3 and report back

oh one more thing...when i installed these drivers clean, i lost CCC. So i had to install the modded 12.5 betas first, then install only the display driver from the 12.7 package (i.e., 8.98 driver)

Mighty impressive one 7970M is outdoing dual 6990Ms and rather well. Are you overclocking to get that score? I would be interested to see your score with CPU/RAM/GPU all at stock speeds.

That explains it. Thanks. I was about to say, one 7970M outdoing dual 6990Ms both at stock speeds would have just been mind blowing, but that seems a bit more reasonable OC'd. Still, I am looking forward to proper drivers for the 7000 series so we can really see what they are made of.

i just wanted to update this thread with my 12.7 beta experience so far over the 12.5 modded betas (found in my 7970m guide)

    Pros:

-The screen is brighter!!! Seemed to help with the 12.5 dim screen issue
-Gained 3-4 fps in Crysis 2 via fraps (running through the same two test levels)
-diablo3 running fast as it did with the 12.5's (i.e., 100+fps), however, i noticed smoother game play

    Cons:
Lost 50 points on my 3dmark11 score

    Overall:

Faster, more stable in games and brighter screen. I can live with the 50 points in 3dmark11

These are modded, leaked drivers we are using. They will eventually become official AMD drivers and will be found on the AMD website

That score was with a 16.5% overclock on the GPU and a 30% overclock on the vram.

I personally gained 3-4 fps on Crysis 2, Skyrim is up 10% according to benchmark3d. I haven't tested BF3 yet

    no...install the clevo drivers...complete.

Then download the 12.7's, do a custom install, only select "Display Driver" from the list. Then you are good

I just did a clean install of these and my screen dim bug is still there. I did a custom install, but left everything checked. Gonna revert back and try again.

On a side note, my 3DMark11 went up 25 points on stock clocks, but seeing how I'm always getting different scores when running benches, it could just be a fluke.

This is driving me crazy. I cannot get any AMD drivers to install or uninstall on my computer (Win 7 x64). I installed 11.12 several months ago and left it alone until now, but since AMD added support for individual game profiles, I feel like it's time to upgrade. I had no issues whatsoever installing the drivers in the past, but whenever I run the Catalyst installer, it crashes with a very generic "Catalyst Install Manager has stopped working." I've tried this with 12.2, 12.4, and 12.7 beta to see if it was just the version I downloaded. I then tried to go into Control Panel and remove the old 11.12 drivers, and I could not - the same Catalyst install manager ran to try and remove them, then crashed. Also, my Catalyst Control Center crashes everytime I try to open the GUI, but my GPU and the drivers otherwise seem to work.

When I check online, I find that this is sometimes tied to corrupt Visual C++ libraries, but I ran a repair install on 2005, 2008, and 2010 without success. I made sure my ATI folder is in my AppData folder, and un-hidden, and it was. Turned off MSE, and ran a virus scan, without results. I finally got 12.4 to install using a command-line trick found on a forum post, but CCC still crashes when I open it, so I can't use any settings. I really don't want to reinstall Windows over a graphics driver.

Just tried out those drivers. Like SlickDude they give me lower 3dmark scores than the 12.5 ones. I also have another, interesting problem. My screen starts glitching/forming artifacts pretty seriously from an OC of 940/1450 and onwards on the 12.7 ones. On 12.5 I could get 965/1460 without any trouble.

And now, it starts glitching out from 920/1420 onwards as well. This is terrible. It annoyed me so much that I haven't bothered to game on these drivers yet.

Also wanted to add, I get some jb***.exe or (something similar) error message when I log on, like a crashed service notification. Didn't bother to dig deep, I'm going to uninstall these drivers, put in 12.5, run benches and uninstall those, then run the 12.7 ones again and see what happens... BRB

    EDIT: make that kdbsync.exe . I'm running 12.7 now, 3dmark 11 score on 965/1460 is P6533. I got P6604 with 12.5 and 960/1460 :( . Off to run battlefield 3 and see how that fares..

Personally I'm giving AMD a big failure thus far with driver support for the 7970. AW rigs appear to be playing better with this card than Clevo rigs but seriously.....look at all the people with BSOD and driver failure currently.

C'mon AMD, figure it the heck out

I can confirm this as well, some games just got a boost. However 3dmark11 has lower scores (6259 vs 6468 = - 205pts).
Its good to see AMD slowly catching up, its about time.

You know what makes me laugh, is the fact that probably old HM models doesnt have the issues most users are experiencing with EM line, because theres no IGPU and Enduro is supposed to not work with them, much like my MSI.
Talk about Karma, Clevo is getting what it deserves.
Its just sad to see peoples having alot of issues with newer laptops.

Is this legit because I don't get 85 fps on my CF for Skyrim. And funny part is CF is not stable compared to a single card. This seems to be misinformation unless I did not do this right.

What I did is custom install the display driver for 12.7 from 12.5 beta per SlickDude's instruction.

Fail lol? Look at the cards: 7970 vs 680. No "M" there right.
Why are you assuming that these are based on 7970m?
These are based on desktop card performance mate.
It's just to show how far they progressed, that's all :)

I went ahead and installed these on my p170em just like slick instructed me to. While i can not get 3dm11 to work now, my games are far more stable. less jitters and better fps. anyone know how to get 3dm to work with these?
