Instead of using the Modder and the Desktop Catalyst drivers, I would just download and install the Mobility Catalyst 5.11's from DrvierHeaven. No modding required. ;)

Make sure you have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed! That is a requirement for proper install of the drives. Just do a windows update.

Everthing is fine! I managed to finally install the driver and noticed a slight improvement in the 3Dmark05 score which is a start!

    well...
    I'm using windows XP.
I downloaded Microsoft NET Framework Version 2 Redistributable Package (x86).
    and installed it.
    Then I installed catalyst 5.11. (5-11_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_27345)

But it's still giving this errors:
first error: INF error, video driver not found
then second: Try to setup your display adapter with a standart vga driver before running setup

    What's wrong?

here's the official catalyst 5.11 link, save this link in your bookmarks and whenever ati releases a new mobility driver they will put it with this link.

    http://www.ati.com/online/mobilecatalyst/

this is a direct link to download the official mobility catalyst from ATI, you don't have to worry about the system check or anything

Does the system check actually help?
Like can I still install it on a non-compatible system?

the system check is just to see if you are on the list of compatable system, every system with an ATI card that is fairly recent is compatable with the drivers but due to technical/stupid reasons ATI is only allowed to give drivers to people that have systems with a manufacturer that is supported on ATI's site,

but the link i posted is kind of a little loophole around the system check.

    I downloaded wrong drivers.
This link is very good for me.
And I installed drivers and it's working.

But my comp. is working slowly now.
    Why?

Thx. Now to install or not? Hmmm... I'm still running old catalyst drivers because the newer ones had issues with a couple of my games.
Anyboy else have issues with these new drivers?
