have you guys experienced this problem at all?
Here is what i did exactly:
    downloaded Catalyst 6.8 from Ati
clicked on exe that i placed on desktop
it unpacked its stuff into program files
    then it said

"Unfortunately, this software update cannot be installed on your system. Please contact your notebook manufacturer for driver updates."

Is this bad? I only did what i wrote above because i could not find where to uninstall the old drivers.

    thanks

Go to the Add/Remove programs, and find the ATi uninstall utility. Then reinstall the 6.8 cats.

    reformat ;)

no, umm make sure you are downloading the mobility drivers, and make sure you selected the right os and such.

also you can download a program from ati that uninstalls all the ati software. try that, then try reinstalling the driver

hahah got confused there eh? It happens.

Uninstall ATi display drivers(AKA the stock drivers.)

What masterchef means is drivecleaner, which is a program that fully wipes clean of the old driver to stop conflict issues.

He was joking about the reformat !

hit the Change/Remove button in control panel for the Catalysis Driver and Control center this will remove the utilities and driver.

Download the Catalysis Mobility Driver not the desktop version and install that
