    Hi,

I have a laptop(Dell Inspiron 1525) with Intel Chipset Mobile 965 Express in my laptop, with 2GB Ram and 250GB HDD. I want to ask about the quality of chipset performance-wise. I was trying to run old Need for speed underground on the computer and I couldnt set it to run smoothly besides having it on the lowest detail. the game itself is over 8 years old, and the computer is couple months old. Is it really that weak configuration? I didnt buy it to be a gaming laptop, obviously, but still, Im shocked that I cant run 8 years old game. is it just this game or is the config that weak? (score from Vista is 3.5)
    thanks

It's not the problem of your chipset, it's a problem with your graphics card. Gaming performance depend wholly on the GPU, and the integrated GPU in your laptop is simply not good enough.

The X3100 is not a graphics card designed for any 3D intensive tasks. You will be able to run old games which are not graphically intensive (such as WoW etc), but if you purchased that computer with the aim for running 3D accelerated games, then you have made a mistake.

it is a school computer, so its main purpose is office work, movies etc. this is the first game I tried to run and I was shocked that it didnt work. I paid 1200 for that laptop (with international warranty), so it seems I didnt made a good deal....right? :-(

Are the right drivers installed? The X3100 should handle old games fine.
