My geforce 6600 on my satellite m40 at stock is 300/600, I overclocked to 330/660. the temperature when playing games is over 80C and 66C surfing internet.

Is this a right/good method to overclock? I read someone has a 6600 with 375/600 in this forum, will that produce more or less heat and how will the performance compare?

don't know which to OC clock speed or memory speed, plz help.

Why do you need to? If your games are running fine don't worry. Both memory and core overclocking will produce more heat, 80 load is ok.

Meaker's question is very good..why do you need to overclock?

IF you decide to overclock (which you have..) i would overclock in smaller increments then 30/60. the smaller the jump up, the less you have to backtrack if something does go wrong (artifacts mostly) (i.e. if you overclock 10/10, there are only 10 values for each to go back and try to see if it works...on 30/60 there are 30 values and 60 values to go back and try..its a hassle to do that)

i would get a cooling pad if you havent already.

    pb,out.

Don't overclock if you don't have to, I agree. It's taking an unnecessary risk.

I wouldn't overclock without a cooling pad, agreed there too. It keeps the laptop considerably cooler (if you get a good one), and thus safer.
