Recently bought myself an Asus A8Jm and took it to my friends lan. My laptop loads the games extremely slow, and when everyone is loading, I still remain on the "Waiting for server to load map screen". It is only when everyone has finished loading and is in game, that I being loading, and that takes over a minute to finish. My friend there had also had a laptop, and with an HDD with the same speed as mine (5400rpm), but he loaded just as the other guys on desktops did. Is there something I need to optimise on my laptop? Or how do i fix it?

That is very strange. The graphics settings you are using have an effect but it isn't too much and with the 1GB of RAM that I think the A8jm has should be more than enough (my gig and a quarter has me the first one loaded on any server I go to). Try, just as a test, lowering your graphics settings like all the way and seeing if it loads a lot faster, if it isn't much of an improvement then you definitely have some sort of issue with your hardware and I would monitor your task manager (the CTR+ALT+DEL thingy) and see how much RAM cod is using. Just kinda wanting to size up the situation, the only thing I can think of off the top of my head now is make sure you have the 1.3 patch, it says that they optomized load times in the readme.

Download and Run HDTune and post your results here.

    Also defragment your hardrive.

That's pretty fast if you have a 5,400RPM drive. What kind of performance increase did you see after defragging?

Hardly any performance increase. Same thing for reducing the texture qualities as well
