With your machine specs, the PC version will look better. Also the pc version is cheaper.

in 360 you will have lag. No mod support. get killed by noob tube, no leaning left or right and bunch of nubs on the mic talking about 7th heaven.

I can't play normal FPS games on PC, controllers are so un-natural feeling after using keyboard + mouse.

That said, I did play Halo 1,2,3 and Gears of War (though that is technically third persion shooter, which isn't so bad with a controller).

But yeah, FPS = PC, because the controls are more natural for the context.

3rd person shooter, then the controller is a little more fun.

Euh. The multiplayer games here are Rockband and Guitar Hero. Or DoTA (Gag).

See, those the girls get into as well, and so...that's a big big plus.

I usually can't find enough people to do FPS games on a console, because if they are doing multiplayer they are doing it on their PC with CSS or BF2.

Definitely not true, 8800 GTX is an awesome card but I've seen an M15X run CoD4 and it still didn't look as good as 360's CoD4, not to mention the fact that the 360 version runs at 60 frames per second.

But as always mice beat controllers and then theres also the fact that Xbox Live's community sucks, I can't even bring myself to play using the mic because of the vast amount of idiots that plague that game.

even my 8600m gt looks better than the xbox 360 version running CoD4. The framerate isn't 60, but 35+ is fine for me if it means higher resolution and visuals. at least the pc lets you balance the visuals / performance on your own instead of dictating the optimal solution. the xbox 360 version runs in 1024 x 640 and i run it in 1280x800... the 8800m gtx will obviously dwarf the 360 in terms of visuals. i could run 1024x640 and get xbox360 framerates, but again, i have the choice to run in any resolution with any settings i want.

and the fact that you can't lean in console versions is a kicker for me. its all about the lean around the corner. lean ftw.

I run CoD 4 on 360 with 1080i/1080P and it looks great. I just started to play it on the computer while deployed (not sure about computer specs) and the graphics dont compare but i also dont know what the specs r because it is the goverments computer. I actually dont like the mouse + keyboard set up. It might be better if i have an actually gaming mouse with more buttons other wise u constantly have to take you're hand off the direttion button to pull up equipment. I'm going to try to hook my 360 controller to the comp. hopefully that will help. As for the mic. its more realistic being able to actualy comunicate with you're team. Yes u get those dumb 8 year olds yelling but guess what MUTE works great.

He said 'looks better', not 'runs better'. If I crank the settings on COD 4 on my computer, it can destroy anything the 360 can throw at it. Of course, it drops down to 15 FPS. There's a nice balance at about 35 FPS, where it's about equal to the 360 version, and running at a higher resolution.

The 360 version run at 60s frames per second. I'm not sure about 1080i/p (1900 x 1080) but it does at 720p and 480p.

COD4 resolution on the 360 is 1024x640, no matter which HD TV you are playing it. Certainly it runs at 60fps. I am sure that the 8600mGT at that resolution can run it near 60fps, let alone the 8800m. In the PC version you got the possibility of higher resolutions.

Eh, well, I'm not trying to defend the 360 or anything (I'm a PS3 guy anyway), that's just what I heard. I don't get why they'd leave all the power unused for the console version of CoD4.

Lol they didn't leave any power untapped. They left it at 1024x640 because they couldn't get a constant 60 fps at any res higher than that (read it in an EGM article). They probably didn't optimize it as well as they could have.

Hmmm...tough call. Usually if the game comes out for both PC and 360 I'll choose the 360 version most every time. Mainly because of the couch factor. It's more comfortable playing stretched out in front of a big screen HDTV.

Then if the 360 game is really, really good I'll buy the PC version because generally graphics and controls will be better and gameplay/levels may vary a bit between the two.

Fwiw, I picked up CoD4 for the XBox. And it looks pretty damn good. I doubt I'll get the PC version of it due to having too many games to play on the backburner as it is.

I got so used to the controller that I prefer it. Controller motions are much more smooth in my opinion not to mention that the superb frame rates. I've been playing on 720p and can just imagine how good it'd look on 1080.

360 = nade fest because the controls arent tight enough to make aiming actually worth it. The 360 version is a big throw 3x nades and then side-step + pre-fire fest and hope to get kills. I rarely ever saw anybody aim up :)

they're essentially the same game so maybe you should ask yourself whether you prefer playing FPS on one over the other. i would try to predict whether you prefer playing with a controller or keyboard and mouse but i forgot where i put my magic 8 ball

i use my 360 and ps3 for raving games, and games like oblivion/assassins creed, ones that generally dont need SUPER fast reactions, and ones that visually look stunning.

    Graphics

tbh 360 graphics look close to PC, PC will always be better, if you use a HDMI lead theyre pretty much the same (unless your PC can run extra high textures on 1920 x 1200), in which case MY GOD IT LOOKS SWEET.

    Gameplay
on PC's its so much easier, easier to have quick reactions, easier to shoot, easier, for well... everything (we all know that if you had cross connections between the consoles and PC in multiplayer, that PC would destroy every FPS in multiplayer.), I find it easier to play cod 4 on the ps3 than the 360, but the controls are still generally easy on all of them, (its not rocket science), its just that PC wins.

    Conclusion
If you often have mates round and you just generally want the game for random fun, get the console because its hassle free (dont need to change any graphics settings for optimum performance), looks really good, easy to setup, runs at 60fps, and when your with mates its really fun for multiplayer sat in your living room shooting each other while drinking.

If you want the best quality version, and u want to own everybody, get the PC version, it looks well better (provided u have the graphics power to have 1680 x 1050 or higher), its so much easier to aim and shoot, all depends on your specs really.

i have cod 4 on pc, ps3, and 360. ps3 and 360 for whenever i cba, i just laze around playing driving games, oblivion, assassins creed and cod 4,and for when im with mates, and whenever im in a serious mood i sit on the PC playing css and cod 4 etc, and own everybody, and it looks so much better, and makes me feel warm inside knowing it looks better

    ESSAY :D
