the cod4 profile folder. Does it save all of your progress in the game in terms of weapons, achivements etc. and is it the same place where the single player saves are located?

dunno about the singleplayer since i never play the singleplayer since i completed it. But i saved my lvl 55 profile on a usb when i installed cod4 on my new laptop and works fine, i now have the same profile on my pc and laptop. The save file includes your lvl and weapons and all unlocks only thing it doesnt is the name you gave to the custom weapon slots :p

Yes it saves all your multiplayer and singleplayer achivements. Its all located in "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players." Just copy and paste that if you want to back your profile.

Yup, just copy the "players" folder. That contains all your saved data (achievements, saved games, etc). I've done it many times without a problem.
