i knoe both of these games are somewhat old, but ive read reviews that both of these games are some realli good rts's that bring in a new idea and mindset towards RTS's. soo i was wondering which one of these two games would you get and why. much thanks

It honestly matters if you like fast paced action with no building bases or if you like the opposite of that.

WiC is very fast paced and units die rather quickly. CoH is kinda fast but much more relaxed if you know what I mean.

I honestly love both but I would have to know what type of RTS you like.

WIC can be taxing on your system where graphics are concerned. Especially in those total nuke annihilation moments. Fun game, tho'. But I too will give the nod to CoH because of the story and total gameplay experience. Relic make really good games.

I too like and recommend World in Conflict only if you have a strong system CPU-wise and GPU-wise. Hope this helps. God Bless :)

thnx for all the replies, from what ive read i think that CoH is that type of RTS that i prefer. i tried Red Alert 3 and didnt like it much because the units die way too fast and requires more of a macro management rather than a micro management (im a long time warcraft 3 player lol) after watching some youtube videos on CoH ive noticed that their is a level of microing involved. anyways best of luck to all of you and hope to see ya on. much thanks

lol like Deluna said World in conflict is Extremely demanding many Notebook reviewers use that game as a benchamrk even today to show how powerful the notebook is so for that reason By DEFAULT i say go with company of heroes :D

Never try WiC but I've gone through CoH and its really good, tank ftw! Lol. Campaign is good though the story is just typical WWII story. Graphic is relatively good looking and realistic.

i tried both and company of heroes ftw

much better in multiplayer and lasts much longer. esp opposing fronts.

world in conflict is epic but the scale is just too large and you wont get to enjoy the details of it all. multiplayer isnt so fun either

I would eventually get both, get whatever is cheapest first. Basically these are the best two strategy games of the past few years.

My vote would also go for CoH as well. My system is kind of weak in terms of CPU which ran the WiC demo like crap if turned on eye candy too high.

Gotta slap down a vote for Coh, one expansion pack is out right now and another is on the way. The game is amazing fun and is a time killer (in a very very good way)

I find COH more challenging and fun than WIC. In WIC, I just spam my fire support. It's basically like an infinite nuke with all the artillery, airstrikes, etc. I'd have to say though that graphically, COH doesn't hold a candle to WIC especially with all the fireworks going on.

WIC adds the element of air battles as opposed to COH's almost completely grounds battles, sure not that bigger deal but just adds tht extra element of enjoyment

WIC online system of servers kicks COH's P2P anyday

    1 + for WIC

just a better overall game in my opinion

It really depends on what kind of game you prefer. WiC is much more hectic and twitch based. But at the same time teamwork is also absolutely crucial. CoH has more strategy involved and a much more intricate cover/pin system. However, it's worth mentioning that CoH multiplayer suffers from a lot of unbalance (which is to be expected since all factions in WiC are basically identical).

That's a tough one. But since you can get CoH with Opposing Fronts for $22.49 at Steam right now and World in Conflict for $22.49 as well, you can get two great games (with one great expansion) for $45!

I'd go both if you can!

    @ shave100

The only 'air battles' you'll have is when you send in an air-to-air fire support to wipe out those pesky choppers. The battle's still mostly on land and it's honestly absurd to me because you can just keep calling in heavy artillery to all your enemies to kingdom come.

Both are great. WiC's online play is really nice, but there aren't many people left.

WiC is a very demanding game. it looks good, but I was never a fan of the twitch style game play. It gets too hectic at some points. Multiplayer was fun, but I got over it pretty quick. Still a very good game though, just wasn't my cup of tea.

I loved CoH. I thought the graphics were very impressive when all on high, loved watching buildings get blown apart and the landscape become a charred wasteland. Gameplay is great fun, has an excellent cover/pinned system. Games are still quite fast paced, but nothing like WiC. Frontlines will move back and forth all the time, love fighting over the supply points. All around great stuff.

Just get both, they're getting really cheap! If not, my pick would be CoH.
