What kind of games do you think would be interesting for you? FPS's, RPG's, MMORPG's?

Well what are the specs for your computer? This will affect what we recommend.

Also, I moved this to the Gaming (Hardware and Software) forum. It is on-topic :)

get half life 2 and set it the difficulty to easy. its very fun and is currently the best pc game.

Apparantly the new game Elder Scrolls Oblivion is going to overtake Half Life2 as the best pc game (so i've heard) so watch out for that game too. Im definately going to buy it

It is better to buy online or at the store? I'm a total noob to this. There are sites where u can play against other ppl, right? Should I buy there or at my local store? Thanks darbyjack... I have a credit account at compusa so that's easier for me even though the service stinks...

    Here are my recommendations:

    Shooters:

    Half-life 2
    Battlefield 2
    F.E.A.R

    RTS:

    Age of Empires 3
    Rome: Total War

    RPG:

    Neverwinter Nights
    Baldur's Gate
    Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind
    Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

This is all I can think of right now. You should be able to run all the games, some at low settings, but all are great games. :)

ur keyboard and mouse will be better than a silly toy gun any day.

Buying online is generally cheaper and I prefer it.

But im buying Elder Scrolls Oblivion in the stores because i dont want to wait for it to be delivered :p

Battlefield 2 is a great online game where u only play against other humans but its not a game for newbies. I'd say u should get Half Life 2, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or Age of Empires 3

    those games are brilliant!

By the way, you will need a powerful laptop or computer to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion

You don't get weapons right away, just keep running. The game unfolds really nicely. HL2 is one of the best FPS ever made . .

Thanks Chaz. I wasn't sure what mouse one mouse two was... If I reformat, can I just install it again? And in the future can I play online against other people?

Yes to both. You can always reinstall the game, and you can play online - it's called Half-Life 2 DeathMatch.

This one needs to go into the NBR Hall of Fame. If there is not one already, please make one and make this the first post! Here is another classic:
I am not trying to make fun of 'jayree' in any way. These are just classic, original posts that I have not seen anything else like posted on any forum.
