According to nvidia the 8600m GT is supposed to run 700mhz on the ram, as shown in the screenshot. but as you can see on the nvidia control panel, mine is reading as only 400mhz. i know GDDR2 is supposed to run 700, so is the control panel just not showing it right, or is my card actually running slower than it should be? im running the new beta drivers with updated inf. i raised the mem clock to 430mhz and scored higher in 3dmark03 than i did before the OC, so theres obviously more left in the card. i didnt take a screenshot but i remember it being something in the high 8000's and when i did the OC it broke into the low 9000's. Is everyone else experiencing this, and i just havent seen a thread on it, or whats goin on?

edit: i notice it says bus, so is that not the actual mem clock, just the bus speed? this confuses me cuz the GPU is the correct speed, but it says bus on that also. wtf?

there are 2 versions of the 8600gt. you have the ddr2 version which runs at 400mhz. the ddr3 version runs at 700. the ddr3 version is the faster of the 2

oh ok, i was reading a thread earlier in the asus section and someone mentioned the gddr2 running at 700 and the gddr3 running at 1400, so i guess thats what confused me, thanks for clearing it up.

No actually the gddr2 version runs at 400 Mhz memory clock and the gddr3 version runs at 700 Mhz memory clock.... But since both are ddr the effective clock rate is 800 Mhz and 1400 Mhz respectively.... ;)
