When I play counter strike , it randomly crashes out of the blue. I can't alt+ctrl+delete or anything so I have to reboot.

Does anyone know why its doing this?

Do I need to update my drivers ?

have you checked your temps while playing? maybe its getting too hot?
you could try uninstalling the game and reinstalling and see if that works
has it always done this or is it recent? if its recent i wouldnt think its the drivers

With Steam, the universal rule is re-installation. Backup your settings, cstrike, etc. and completely uninstall and reinstall the game(s). Both the HL1 and HL2 engines have major system hang issues, especially on Vista. Basically a bad cocktail has led to this, but the latest updates have helped to mitigate some of the issue.

I agree, most uninstalls then reinstall will get everything working fine on Steam.
