Have you tried updating your drivers, because other than that and video card we have very similar systems, and it works great on mine.

Heck, it runs great on my machine and both your GPUs are more powerful than mine.

Now if I could just get Steam to work!

Yeah, I was having problems so ZI just downloaded Steam with a full cache. That made all the difference.

CS 1.6 runs way better than Quake III on my R100. There is some strange 'mouse lag' in Quake III that doesn't manifest itself when I playing other games.

Oh well. Who needs QIII when I have CS?

laptops: Toshiba R100 (current), iBook 800, PowerBook G4 400, iBook 600, Compaq 2811CA, Sony VAIO Z505JS, NEC Versa SXi, Compaq Presario 1685

well, ive been playing EvE for about 2 weeks so no CS CZ at all.

But i dont mind, I've been continuously getting banned from every server i play on.. i apparently cheat. This is the problem when you play with a bunch of people who are "off the shelfers" (my name for guys who see cs on the shelf and think 'oh wow wha ta cool game lets buy it!' and then think they are the greatest int he game afterplayinf for a few weeks. They cant deal with players who have been playing cs for 4-5 years or more.

I play on alot of the east coast servers, most of th eones i play(ed) on were "nyc" oriented servers.. heh.. good pings, etc.. ill look for addresses later maybe.

Yeah, cs cz isn't so great, i'd rather play the free cs that I've been able to download ever since I got HL several years ago.

I usually tried to find a group of good people and stick on their server to avoid being called a "hacker" and kick/baned. Like I was just a few days ago, my brother and I were owning the server than all of the sudden no accusations, complaints, or anything we were both just kick/banned.

i just loaded up dod for the first time in months, im amazed i can still play. playing dod is a good way to play cs better. you have to be much more accurate in dod then cs, and when you bring that accuracy over to cs you greatly improve.

If you like CS you should try Day of Defeat. WW2 action, I like it much better than CS. Not to mention most say that its a better WW2 game than BF1942. I can't comment since I've never played Battlefield, but DoD does kick butt.

I have an Acer Centrino laptop with a cruddy integrated Intel video card. I think it even uses my system ram, but I'm still able to run CS and DoD with a halfway decent fps. It just gets pretty hot, but I just got a laptop cooling pad for that :)

Personally I hate DOD, and pretty much every hl mod except CS, because none of them make you earn what you use and aren't round based.

most maps its around 99fps droping to around 70 with lots of action in a place. On some of the custom maps it drops down to around 40fps, but I know others complain about their fps on those maps as well. Also, don't try playing without it plugged in unless you find a way to disable ATI power down. I once had it unplug partway through playing and dropped to 40fps max down to 20fps.

yeah i have to disagree, i prefer 1.6 the new weapons and levels along with new updated resolutions and such are much better than 1.5
