Crytek’s chief: Nothing will beat Crysis 3′s graphics for at least two years (interview) | VentureBeat

Lets hope its not so linear and dull like crysis 2 was.
-
curious how they can make it look graphically better and truly next gen like they say. curious what the next gen looks like and from what I read It will be on the level of the upcoming consoles. I hope its as good as avatar like bill gates says

My guess is that's because the next gen games will probably not look much different on PC. They will look a lot different on consoles, but on PC we can already scale up the display resolution and add DX11, tessellation, high quality shadows and lighting, high res textures, post FX, anisotropic filtering, etc. -
I'm just hoping that Crysis 3 doesn't end up being a system killer. I have an i7 3920xm cpu,and dual 680gtx's so, I'm hoping for a pretty damn sweet experience with everything cranked up but, even the top of the line systems couldn't run Crysis 1 worth a crap, back in the day. My system runs Crysis 2 maxxed out, without even breaking a sweat. Hopefully, this game is well optimized.

You'll be fine, you're way over the recommended specs. Their "high performance" recommendation is a gtx 670, and you've got that beat by a healthy margin. -
Does that GTX 670 recommendation also include the mobile variant?
-
I hope they don't do all their graphics just for the sake of making a system killer. I hope it's not Crysis 2 all over again. That game STILL has tessellated water inside BUILDINGS! That's my guess. This game will have ridiculous amounts of tessellation and ridiculous amounts of hardware accelerated DOF and blur etc. And no doubt, very cinematic. I really hope it won't be watching a movie rather than playing an awesome game

No, it's the desktop 670. The most comparable mobile card is the 680m, but it would need a substantial oc to match the desktop 670. Don't worry though, you'll be able to run it on decent settings. Probably a mix of medium/high with low/no aa. -
No matter how much you overclock it it cant match GTX670 its more or less GTX660 ti only.
-
but 680m SLI is better then even a desktop 680 by a large margin no?
-
Not a large margin, but yes, it is better. There's no real point in comparing desktop GPU's with mobile GPU's, they are completely different. The only thing I see as logical to compare is the FPS.
Can't wait for C3.

Perhaps in the future when game publishers begin listing mobile CPU and GPU equivalents on their minimum/recommended specs; however at this time it's still important to have an understanding of comparable laptop/desktop hardware if you want to guess whether your laptop will run "X" game at 1080p. -
hope it will work on middle class gpu's (hd5650) even on 720p low settings
-
I would not get my hopes up...
