comp in sig. Lately when I play crysis warhead the game freezes and quits. I don't know what the problem is. I have everything set on high and the resolution is at 1600x1200. It was working fine before, anyone know what to do?

install drivers from fresh or game from fresh is a good start.

Kill any programs/processes that may be running in the background while you play the game that do not need to be running.

I had a problem very similar to this. The only difference was, mine was in normal Crysis.

Did your Crysis: Warhead frame rates start to drop, and then the game just froze? If it did, the problem is exactly the same as the problem that I had.

I believe that there was some sort of memory leak when I was playing. To get around that, I played the game in Direct-X 9. That solved everything. You may want to give this a try. I don't guarantee that it will work, but it is worth a shot.

(To play in DX9, right click on the Crysis: Warhead icon and click "Play DX9")

    Best of luck!

    Eric

Hope it helps. Let me know.

I was able to play it in DX10 for the majority of the time with no problems, but then I got to a certain scene in Crysis (don't want to give any spoilers :p ) and it kept freezing. I tried putting it on the lowest settings, and it still didn't work. Finally, I researched it online and it told me to play in DX9. I did, and voila! Problem solved. It was some game issue, nothing wrong with my computer.

It must be the drivers, some program you have running or your laptop is overheating and shutting down

-Update your drivers (nvidia or laptopvideo2go)

-Type MSCONFIG in the RUN field and go to STARTUP and check off things you dont need when you turn on your laptop such as msn, aim, random programs etc... just open them when youll need them and check them back on if you really need them when you boot

-Check your temperatures with some program and buy some canned air to blow out air from your fans and heatsinks (someone help me out I dont know what to use, my laptop doesnt heat up much so I dont really care... Everest? Rivatuner?)

Thanks for the help, but the computer is brand new. I also checked my gpu temp and it was at 71C. Does that sound right?

You can try the Nvidia official 182.XX drivers. I really liked it as the idle and gaming temperatures were 53 and 73 respectively for me. :D
